Astros trade Lindstrom for minor league pitchers

    It looks like a wash. The Astros trades some prospects to get Lindstrom and got a few back from the Rockies.

    Well on the one hand, Lindstrom lost the closer's role to Lyon, which kind of makes him expendable. Plus it adds a little more depth to the farm, which is good.

    On the other hand, Lindstrom was bothered by back problems, attributing to his struggles. Plus we lost some depth in the bullpen...all for the sake of trimming payroll.

    Ultimately it's probably not a move that hurts the team but could potentially help it in the long-run. Lindstrom wasn't gonna be a hugely deciding factor in this team's success this season.

    Would be nice if the payroll was a little more than 80 million though.

    Aren't they cutting the payroll in order to make the team more attractive to potential owners? It'll be interesting to see how much they cut it.
