Why do people feel the need to compare Martin to Melo? It's like a guy trying to justify his Civic SI to his neighbors BMW 3 series.
He's just a volume scorer? That's the strangest phrasing I've ever heard to describe Martin. Talk about damning him with faint praise! Melo is a volume shooter - that's a bad thing, but I'll take all the volume scorers I can get, thank you very much. KM's performance this year shows how good he is and how perfect of a fit he is in Adelman's offense. That's how you get to have the best TS% for your position in the league. Well done, Morey, Adelman, and Kevin. I believe that if Adelman's offense is executed properly with talented enough players, your need for a guy to create his own shot is drastically reduced. Run your offense, you will get an open shot. (Of course, we do have AB for that if we need him)
He is not even a robin, he is like cat woman. Still powerful, but all that flopping proves he has the wrong genetalia to be Batman or Robin.... DD
He is the Rip Hamilton mode of stardom bordering superstar. But without the right set of offense to help (in this case Hustleman Scola), he'd just be a scoring SG like he was in Sacremento. There is enough talent around him now to actually get things done, although we can't expect him to be our Kobe or Wade. He is very good but not that good.
Because the same people who are pumping Melo up as a legitimate superstar don't even see Kevin Martin as a legitimate 2nd option on a championship team. That doesn't make any kind of sense, Melo costs 2x as much and shoots much worse than Martin. Sure he can perform in crunch time, but one of the reasons he needs to perform in crunchtime is he misses so much the Nuggets are always in catchup mode.
Robin wears flesh colored tights and green pixie boots, I'm not sure why that's more masculine than flopping all over the place.
Martin is not that similar to Hamilton. Both can get shots off the ball, but Hamilton is a mid-range 2pt shooter who doesn't make a lot of 3s and draws a moderate amount of FTs. Martin has much better accuracy on the 3 pt shot and is among the league leader in FTs attempted. As a result, Martin's scoring efficiency is much higher than Rip's. (Career TS%: 60.2 vs. 52.7).
Martin is the best scorer in the NBA, Hamilton was maybe among the top 20 scorers in his prime. Also, it's sad to see how many CF people think Melo is a superstar. Hilarious too.
People said the exact same thing about David Lee and Amare Stoudemire when it came to the Knicks. How has that turned out?
He was Sac-town's franchise player for years, until Tyreke showed up. And he's among the league leaders in scoring, and up with literally the best in free throws per game. If you want to talk about efficiency, he's among the best of all time in true shooting percentage. All this, before this year, which just happens to be turning into a serious career-year for him (if he stays healthy, knock on wood).
Uh.....be real.....his numbers say otherwise. KM is an elite scorer. about time you star appreciating this guy ! I read a lot of martin bashing on this forum. It shows how uneducated some of the guys are here !
