So by that reasoning, since you've more than likely never been in the NBA either, you should never complain about anything a player ever does. For the rest of us that have opinions that we want to share on this forum, well some of us don't like Bullard's commentary. Include me in that camp as well. I often prefer hearing the road team's commentary because they at least often offer some "color" in their commentary.

To be fair, this is what the refs are supposed to be doing all the time, and doesn't necessarily warrant a comment (when they do their job and make the correct call).

Ok I see. From Bill and Bull's commentary tonight, they made it appear that Delaney was checking to see if Martin was the one who was actually fouled.

nah was close enough to hear him say that he wanted to check time

what was stupid was that Delaney posed to for pictures from ppl in the audience during timeouts

who the hell wants to take pictures of a ref?

The refs were pretty bad. Blake Griffin got away with tons of traveling.

I have no words for that, lol. Could you give us your overall thoughts about tonight's game? Inside observations?

The b****ing about refs gets old as do his constant references to Dream. I understand he played with Hakeem, the greatest Rocket ever, but it comes off like Ahmad Rashad talking about Michael.

The terrible puns and corny jokes are getting old. I can handle him telling the jokes, but it drives me crazy when Bill plays dumb and makes Bullard explain the bad joke.

Rocket announcers really are a joke. Bill's an all right play-by-play guy, but other than Van Chancellor, we've never had a good color guy since I started actively following them in the early 90's.

I'm always pissed at the refs and am glad that Bullard complains a lot about them.

I've noticed the Houston announcers rarely have much to say about the opposing team. Maybe just a few obvious observations about the main players ("That guy can play," "He can really shoot the ball" etc.) but that's about it.
But since they focus so much on Houston, they naturally run out of new things to say about the players every game. So they end up relying on recycled comments or jokes to fill up time.

Compare that with the Clippers commentator who was practically slobbering over the Rockets last night. Maybe it was just because he liked the team, but he had something specific to say about almost every player on the Rockets and a lot more about Adelman.

Bullard homerism does become irritating at times, especially when it comes to his bf budinger.

So....if we can't have Van Chancellor again, who SHOULD be the Rox color guy?

Any suggestions? Who do you think would be good?

this is the first game where Bull has said anything bad about the refs. He's been pretty supportive of them all season - even Bill made a comment about it last week.

The refs just did such a poor job tonight that it was VERY noticeable. So I had no problem with him complaining today.

It's annoying, but tonight it was warranted. He knew what was up.

I prefer commentators that put more work into the game. As long as Bill Worrell is the primary commentator the color commentators will always suck. Bill likes to hog the mic. This is why it seems as if all Clyde and Matt do is complain about the officiating. After a foul it is the only time they can put something in.

It's not just the Clippers commentators either. Lots of commentators tend to have good things to say about Battier, Scola, Martin, etc. The GSW and SAC commentators have serious man-crushes on Battier.

When watching rocket games, I dunno which is worse, Clyde chuckling uncontrollably at lame jokes, or Bill providing the "funny" comments (which are not meant to be full-on jokes) for Clyde to laugh at. Very painful.

I like Bull and I don't find his comments about the refs annoying. If anything I usually agree with what he's saying.
