it's nearing the 1/2 mark, so here are my candidates: rank your top 3

    MVP:
    1) dirk
    2) deron williams
    3) derrick rose
    others: amare, manu, westbrook

who i think will win at the end: it will be between dirk or lebron

    DPOY:
    1) kg - if he had a bigger load on offense, he would win the MVP
    2) dwight
    3) tyson chandler

who i think will win in the end: KG or dwight

    all-nba 1st:
    G - deron
    G - derrick rose
    F - dirk
    F - amare
    C - dwight

who i think will be all-nba at year's end?
    G - deron
    G - kobe
    F - dirk
    F - lebron
    C - dwight

I think he means who will be on the team at the end. Kobe will be first team all-NBA and first defensive team no matter what.

OK, I get it. My take: LeBron will not win 3 MVPs in a row.

and there is really no chance Chuck Hayes wins DPOY, so you should forget about that.

How can Westbrook not be MIP? The award is just stupid. He is going from side kick to star/superstar. It is the hardest improvement to make.

MVP: has to be someone with a top record... I see Mavs staying on top so Dirk is one, Spurs will be on top but I don't think any of their stars will be MVP, Celtics... KG is a maybe. Lakers with Kobe. Then I see the Thunder going with a huge winning streak going into the playoffs with Durant scoring better than last season. Miami, Lebron's stats will only be slightly above Wade's so he won't deserve it.

    1) Dirk
    2) Durant
    3) KG
    4) Kobe

    DPOY:

    1) KG
    2) Bogut
    3) Duncan

    MIP:

    1) Raymond Felton

    6th man:

    1) CJ Miles

    All NBA 1st:

    Deron Williams
    Kobe Bryant
    LeBron James
    Dirk Nowitzki
    Dwight Howard

There is a case for Westbrook for MIP, but I feel like statistical and role increases by the other players I listed were bigger. For instance, Raymond Felton was pretty much an average point-guard. Now he's a potential All-Star. And yes, the award is kinda skewed since it focuses primarily on stats rather than the players role and impact on the team.

Then again you could say most of these awards are like that.

i agree. his jump has been HUGE this year. and like you stated, that jump is harder than from average to good.

If Lowery continues to start...he should be in the top 3 for MIP...our record will improve eventually....If he has a line of 13pts, 8 assists, and 4 steals how can he not be in the discussion....
MVP: Nowitki...I think they will get the top seed in the West BUT lose in WCF
DPOY:Howard...as previous years ..he shuts down TEAMS inside game by himself
6th Man:Terry ....only because of top seed
MIP:Westbrook...as someone mentioned...its harder to jump from good player to superstar in short time at the most important position
COY: Carlisle...again top seed in loaded West
Although I hate Dallas, its hard to ignore what they're doing ...they were gonna blowup the team 2 years ago

yeah but isn't MIP generally awarded to a lower tier player...kind of like the intercontinental title of the nba?
