We are building a unique show week after week in the East Village at The Belgian Room, Wednesdays 9-2am

-Comedians and your aspirations of glory, forget about messy stopwatches and flashing lights,
get up on the microphone and you got your 10 minutes to work an intimate crowd,
GO NUTS, We Want you to experiment, we want you to be taboo, we need it in the life
vein of society for you to let loose and SHOCK US.

-Poets, this is your chance to herald to the streets of all of this your diatribe and proclamations,
if you wish and we suggest to tantalize some of the fine ladies in the area with your sexy erotica
then go ahead, get us wet, if you wanna verse it out, we can count out the meter
in our heads, You get up to 3 poems!!

-Musicians, singer songwriters, small piece bands, soloists, rappers!!! ROCK THE MIC,
you get up to 15 minutes to perform, bring your friends, add an east village show to your resume,
we've got the amps to plug in, house drummer, and an open minded crowd, RAPPERS
come try your best, we wanna hear you spit downtown, no more hiding in harlem

-Magicians, WE NEED MAGIC, Fire, Flying Cards, Invisible sawed in half women, Tricks and
treats of the illusion, doubletalk and hypnosis, work your skills and put out a hat, rabbits not
included (BRING YOURS), Try out your new act with no worries of time, we want to see what
people think of your sorcery!

-Tragedians, Yes, WE KNOW YOUR OUT THERE, Monologues, Dramatic Interludes, Death,
Betrayal, Unrequited Lust, Incest, Heartbreak, Tear our brains out with you amplitudes of
sorrow and pain, we have to balance out the giggles, give us the horrors.


Downtown Jimbo Browns Open Mic Showdown is a place for you to express yourself without worry,
WE WANT THE RAW, and we'll give you every opportunity to perform it, bring your friends,
hang out, its about community and about a synthesis of ideas within such space, this is a free stage
with no judgments or bias, we will throw them out for saying you can't say that, we've got alot of cool
