Anyone else playing so far, pretty amazing expansion to BC2, which was ono of, if not the best FPS of the year. I got it on PC and XBox 360....great music too.... DD
Battlefield is my least favorite FPS there is, definitely the absolute bottom of the barrel for the genre (at least in terms of main stream titles)
they need to make an actual true sequel to battlefield 2. The non "consoleized" verision. Battlefield 2 is still played heavily on the pc, especially with the mod support it has(project reality is truly amazing). A true successor to battlefield 2 will scrap the gay story mode, not be meant for consoles, have 64 player support, bigger maps, true squad integration...
im pretty sure you never played battlefield 2 on the pc with 32 vs 32. Amazing experience. Its the only multiplayer that I played that forces teamwork(especially project reality). I have a question. Whats the point of team deathmatch in games like Modern Warefare? Everyone is still running around like chickens with their head chopped off either way. Its like quake but reskinned??? That's why i only need to play games like that for 30 minutes before i become bored.
Battlefield 1942 is the best FPS of all time, IMO...64 peeps, vehicles, massive maps, tons of game play types. Oooh baby, I miss that, and wish they would update it. Even the mod forgotten Hope for it was incredible.... DD
I'm a huge BF2 fan, but I really like Bad Company 2. If you remember when BF2 first came out it was basically everyone team killing to get on the helicopters/jets first.
I've been a huge FPSer pretty much my whole life and I consider Counter-Strike as the greatest FPS of all time. With that said I would have to say BF BC 2 is by far the best FPS game out there on console. My one and only complaint would be that people tend not to communicate with their mics as much as I would like at times. I can't wait to get Vietnam when I get back in town.
I hate playing games on PC and games with that many people 32 vs. 32 is just horrible imo. A game that long becomes boring and tiresome. 10 minutes is a perfect amount of time, it's high paced and lots of action. And like I have said in every video game thread that BF or any other FPS requires more teamwork than Halo or COD or any other FPS. Every single FPS requires teamwork to be good (at least consistently). the only game that requires it more than others is L4d
yup i remember that... but that's what makes project reality so great! You actually have to have a pilot kit to fly a vehicle. Everyone has their role and no one fights for it. Squads are required and 90% of the time everyone has voice comm.
project reality requires more team work than any other fps out there. Trust me. Different tastes i guess. Again games like cod, moh etc are basically 16 people running around with their heads chopped off. And why is 32 vs 32 horrible? Yes it can be horrible if there was no organization to the teams and the game was run cod style. But when you work in 6 man teams where everyone has comm and the squad leaders communicate with other squads about what squad does what it becomes an experience that cannot be beaten by other fps games. Again its not experience that you will always find every time you jump into a server.... Maybe its a crappy server where there are no rules enforced and everyone is for themselves. You have to know the right servers to play in games like battlefield 2 and project reality to get the full experience of the game.
I downloaded Project Reality a few years ago but never really played it. I'll have to give it a try some time.
32 vs 32 on BF2 was a lot of fun. The matches typically didn't take more than 15 minutes depending on how the tickers were set and the size of the map. It was a little slower paced though except for the Special Forces add-on. Not sure how it is now, but that expansion wasn't very popular at the time I was playing so it was hard to find games though.
So I decided to get BFBC2 since it was so cheap on Steam. Before I give my useless opinion of it, I'll start by saying I loved both Modern Warfares, and in general liked the Infinity Ward games better than the Treyarch ones. I own Black Ops, and really just don't like it. Medal of Honor, I liked, but felt like it was very...shallow of a game for lack of a better description. Bad Company 2 multi-player...man I'm having fun with this game. Although I love the run and gun style of MW2 and I feel like I got pretty good at it. Good enough I could still compete with wall hackers (aimbots were quite a bit tougher to play against). I really enjoy the squad-based play and the classes. I'm still learning the game, but I'm having fun doing so. MW2 is pretty tough to enjoy at first until you start learning maps and weapons more. My K/D is around 1.4, but I don't care about that as you do in MW games. I care about my points, which i get for spotting people, assisting, tagging a tank, healing, ammo supplying, reviving, capping points, etc. Am I enjoying it more than MW2? Hard to say, but I am surely enjoying it a lot right now. Can't believe I almost never played this game. Just need to learn to fly and shoot down helicopters, haha.
