The Rockets improvement on the floor has been pretty much as expected, players got comfortable with each other, the rotation has been set, the competition has lightened up considerably, and now, the 3ball is falling.

When the Rockets hit 10 three point shots or more they are 9-0.......that is pretty telling.

And just look at the shooting percentages by the players:

    http://www.clutchfans.net/stats.cfm

    C Lee 49%
    B Miller 45.8%
    K Mart 44.8%
    K Lowry 40.8%
    S Battier 38.7%
    A Brooks 38.5%

That is flipping amazing, the only one in the regular rotation that shoots 3s that is struggling is my boy Bud, and he has shown signs of coming around too.

And now without Yao as a low post presence, they will need more and more 3pt shots to go down.

As JVG used to say, it is a make or miss league, and the team is doing a great job of making them, let's hope it keeps up.

Chicks love the long ball !

By the thread title, I was half-expecting a link to a National Enquirer article. Then I realized you would never post in the wrong forum.

I wonder if Dwight had this as his back court, would they have won a Championship?

I noticed this too. It made me so sad just imagine if Yao is healthy and can play 30min. Rockets would have been sick with the inside-out game with this kind of 3 ball percentage.

We aren't living or dying by the three, we have a lot of good shooters. Teams like the Magic live and die by the three because they don't have good shooters, yet they play inside out, so they're unpredictable.

How many games have we lost this year because we couldn't hit open threes? I can't remember any. We lose because we can't finish around the rim or get pounded inside on defense.

Yeah 3pt shooting is the one area we can beat the elite teams. We are the best 3 pt shooting team in the league if you discount are first dozen games.

San Antonio and Miami are pretty good too but I still believe that is our best way to beat elite. With motion until you find an opening. And Martin needs very little.

Also I think this month against Miami wwe should make it a shootout. They are pretty behind the arc. But they are more dealy flying in the lane. So I say clog the middle and make Wade and Lebron beat you behind the arc. The might do it but if you allow them to the basket the will getting 3's the old fashion way.

I am very curios to see how Adelman defends Lebron and Wade. we our one of the few teams in the league that has the perimeter defenders to guard them. And our team defense is getting better and better. I am ready for a real test. Bring on the Heat.

Actually I guess we did lose a couple of games very early on but that was a much different rotation.

Earlier this year you said the "season would be over by the time Yao and Brooks got back".

Hmm. As expected, by some, I guess.

I agree with you, we have really good defender in Hayes, william, battier, Clee, I could see us beating the heat. Only problem is the heat arent slouches on D either. But I think our help D and team D is way better than theres...

btw: San Antonio is undefeated when they make more than 10 3pt'ers as well. Another interesting fact is that SA, Miami, Lakers and Boston are each in the top 8 of 3pt%. So, we are in good company.

It is over, this team has no chance to compete at all, but at least we can relish the improved play.

Now why would I do that? It was an old thread, and there is no reason to bump old threads, and this one is celebrating the HOT shooting.....

Tell you what is redundant though, you coming into every one of my threads and taking a weak Ariza UCLA style shot.....and I go..."get that SHOT out of here !"

On the baseball team, when our team goes out to play the field if a coach yells...."What do chicks dig?"

    The team yells back...."leather !"

Thank you for contributing so much to the GARM, your post is inciteful, right on topic and well mannered. BTW, there is an ignore feature if you are unable to stand the heat in the kitchen.

Now this is how you contribute to the topic....and stay away from the attack the messanger style that clogs up the GARM.
