Give it a month till it comes out on the internet, then just burn it or watch it on your computer.

You should watch the interview Mark did with Conan the other night. He talked about it took him 4 and a half years to work out in order to prepare of this movie. The fights are 60% real.. even the girl fights in this movie are real. They wanted to recreate this as real as possible. Probably going to go see it tomorrow.

I thought it was a good movie, Oscar worthy? Not really, but Bale/Waldberg's performances are epic

I didn't like the fight scenes in between his 2 fights throughout the movie, the camera angles were pretty lame on how they shot it, but then again, we're not really watching for the fights itself, but the backstories of these 2 former boxers. It was better than Ali to me in comparison.

Kinda sucks that they didn't at least show the first Gatti fight, but I guess it was out of respect of Gatti's death

The movie was incredibly "meh" to me.

Amy Adams was good, and Christian Bale is a one hell of a method actor...but I didn't feel anything for the characters like I did in, say, Cinderella Man. Perhaps if it wasn't hyped up as an Oscar contender, I wouldn't be so critical...but it was and I am.

Are we just re-doing all of Scorcese's movies with "Irish" characters now?

It took four years because Aronofsky was supposed to direct it with Brad Pitt in Bale's role. but it never took off.

Don't get the hype around Wahlberg in this film. He seemed like a diet version of himself.

Bale was awesome in the film and Amy Adams was pretty good as well.

Great movie. Saw it last Saturday, and Bale was incredible. Probably his best performance since American Psycho. The boxing scenes with Wahlberg were great too.

Bale was great, Amy Adams was very good, and Mark Whalberg was...Mark Whalberg.

Overall I thought the movie was severely lacking considering the hype it's received. I felt the fight scenes were weak and I didn't feel emotion for the characters that I expect to in a film of this sort. In fact, my favorite parts of the movie were the comic relief (Amy Adams vs. the mother/sisters).

I didn't care too much about the boxing scenes that much but thought it was great how they shot it in a live HBO broadcast format, it was a very different style of a boxing scene you're used to seein in the movies...

Agreed, but it didn't really fit with the overall story which was basically about the Mickey and Dicky dynamic. Would have made for some great boxing scenes though.

Gatti vs ward was in a movie itself, doesn't need to be duplicated again in movie format....

What a great movie. Standard uplifting boxing story but the directing and acting help it rise above that. Christian Bale and Amy Adams own this movie. Awesome 90s nostalgia too.

On a side note: The blue collar Massachusetts setting in The Fighter feels more authentic than that garbage The Town. Christian Bale, who's English, nails the accent down perfectly and better that Ben Affleck who's from Massachusetts.

Saw it yesterday and loved it Christian Bale was amazing

Sports movies suck for the most part, and this did a good job of keeping the movie about the family dynamic/drug addiction and kept the boxing to a minimum

Good movie. Bale stole the show and I also thought Melissa Leo who plays the mother was great. I think both are nominated for Golden Globes.
