I got into beat-making (the ol' fashion way) a long time ago when I discovered Sugar Smacks.

But seriously, I play the drums. Here's a video I made a few weeks ago of me working on the elusive Purdie Shuffle:

I plink around on the guitar from time to time, and occasionally do an open mic. I was last in a band (playing bass) in 1991.

I see ima has moved on from his first major band... I was hoping to see him break out some White Lion at the next barbecue.

LOL, well I kind of assumed everyone had seem those videos so I was just trying to keep it fresh.

If there are people who haven't seen the stick-twirling drummer video or The Final Countdown one, then I know they haven't seen this one:

Why thank you. We are done mixing our debut LP as of yesterday. Now it's onto mastering, it's sounding really great.

But it could also turn out to sound innovative. You just never know what could happen.sometimes the greatest ideals are the ones that happen spontaneously.

I am not in a band, but I'm turning my spare bedroom into a drum recording studio. I've almost gotten everything I need. I'll be using 7 mics, total. I just got new shells last week. Tama Superstar SL 5 piece. I have an assortment of Paiste cymbals: 22" Dimentions ride, 2002 Crunch hihats, A 16" Alpha crash, a 15" mellow Signature crash, and a Sabian B8 China Boy.

Got some tube pre-amps for the condender mics and an M-audio sound card w/ a ton of inputs and outputs.

Planning on doing some Judas Priest covers to put on Youtube some time in the next few weeks. Probably will start w/ Victim of Changes and Tyrant.

Ultimately, I'd love to play in a metal band. I've got a ton of practicing to do first, but I've gotten much better in the past year, or so. Started playing just a couple years ago. I got a late start getting into playing music. Very regrettable!

Can you play some punk rock and some funk too? I'm going to need a drummer sometime next year.

That would be awesome! But I'm assuming that you live in the greater Houston area, no? I live in D.C.

I love classic rock and some punk, but mainly metal.
