Whether the book is accurate or not is immaterial. It was a very enjoyable book.

Nay, B-bob, nay! I thought Fever Pitch is a great book, even if you don't like, or know much about soccer. I think it gets to the nub of fandom really well. I could easily substitute Arsenal for the Houston Rockets/Astros/Oilers.

I am reading "Sweet Soul Music: Rhythm and Blues and the Southern Dream of Freedom" by Peter Guralnick. God, I love this book. It makes me really homesick for the south and thankful that I got to visit Memphis. Great book. Guralnick wrote two excellent biographies of Elvis Presley.
