I just love the fact that he can guard the big point guards that usually torture us like Rose, DWilliams, and now Wall. He is a quiet scorer, he dosen't really "catch fire" so much as just let the game come to him. He will score on a fast break or hit a midrange jumper during the normal flow of the game, so it won't seem as striking as scoring 10 in a row in the last few minutes. Scola used to do that to me all the time, I would think the guy had a bad game then look at the box score later and see he had 18 and 10. If you look at Lee's numbers he is having a career year in FG and 3pt FG percentage.
I would like to see how Lee looks in the starting line-up. Lowry Lee Martin Lee would still be the defensive stopper like Battier is now but he is much better than battier on offense. Martin would be no worse on defense IMO as a small forward than he is as a two guard.
Please re-read his post. He is talking about sliding Martin over to the 3 spot (SF), because he is unable to defend anyone anyways.
I disagree with the OP completely. Whenever Lee is in the game I always notice him playing solid perimeter D (usually on the other teams PG) and shooting the lights out when he gets his touches. He just doesn't get all that many minutes, if he played more you'd notice him more (obviously)
I can't wait to play some of those teams like Utah, Chicago, et. al. that burned us at the PG position earlier. Now that Lee is fitting in (or, should I say, RA figured out to play him for defense in that position), I think he can be very important for controlling those guys and giving us a better chance to win.
And let Wallace go off for 27. With Paul and West on your team, you'd think his numbers would have gone up but they are dropping to embarrassing.
I always thought highly of Lee. Ofcourse before Houston the only time I really saw his play was during the Finals series and the Conference finals while he was with the magic. He could shoot and you could see he could play defense. He was asked to mark Lebron at times, which is a massive ask for a rookie 2 guard who was half of Lebron's size. I said to myself I would love for him to become a Rocket and cue the CSB's....
If you want to see how the N.O. fans think of him just read the comments at Atthehive.com (Hornets blog). It reminds me of us last year.
Glad to see Courtney getting his props...First noticed him as a rookie in the Finals and didn't even realize that he was a rookie. He's fitting in nicely with the team now. Can't wait to see if him and T-Will still have chemistry.
