ESPN Talk about retooling on the fly. Magic President Otis Smith just got back from tripping in 2K11. As soon as he decided it, he blew the house in one day. We all have a pervert videogamer inside who fantasizes about this type of moves, Smith just happened to have the power to make it real. I just wanted to comment on the boldness of this moves, and check your reactions about it.Personally, I would not trade for Arenas, I don't see what their projections are, I think Orlando is just different now, not necessarily better, anyways the jury is still out. Don't you sometimes wish Morey would come off with this kind of dynamite moves? Wouldn’t you love that kind of rush?
Otis Smith had to do something , Dwight Howard has a lot to do with it . Magic need to keep up with the Celtics and Heat . I personally liked that the GM is trying to help the team get better presently .
That kind of rush can get you fired and set your franchise back a decade or so. If you think about it the main reason Orlando might lose Dwight is because Otis paid Rashard Lewis a 120M contract. Now he dug the magic a deeper hole by getting Hedo back. We'll see if it pays off or not.
I am not a Rockets fan per se but would much rather have Morey than Otis Smith and David Twardzik (the guy who picked Joe Smith and Todd Fuller over Kevin Garnett and Kobe Bryant in the draft), who just created the most guard-heavy roster in the NBA. Just because a GM can compose a roster of underachieving, big-contract stars doesn't mean he should.
I'm sure (and very glad) you'll never hear Morey say "we had a bad road trip so I decided to blow it up."
