At this point . . . . I guess this group deserves their own thread.

    Texans need:
    A Punt Returner
    A Kick off Returner
    A Punter
    Not overly satisified with Rackers

Didn't they draft a rookie returner? then cut him.

Losing the Field Position battle every week sucks!

I've said this for a few weeks now. While I think Rackers is adequate, Slaton/Jones are at the bottom of the barrel in terms of punt returns. We'd be lucky if we can even get 10 yards from those guys.

Another area the Texans need to look at....

Agreed. Slaton is just abysmal at returning punts. There are so many things that need to be revamped, hopefully this will be one (and a new head coach  )

Trindon Holliday was the returnman, but he's on the IR for the year.

I actually think it has more to do with scheme (except for Slaton who just sucks). Jones NEVER has anywhere to go, ever. he guy has proven to be a good return guy in the past

Jacoby has always had major problems in the return game, whether it be his ability to catch or his ability to make smart decisions after the catch. This year, it always seems like he's just dancing around trying to fake everyone out and, instead of just making easy runs for modest gains, he almost always loses yardage. I think who he is now is the player he will always be, and that is a mediocre returner and receiver.

One of the reason I bring up this thread is a part of the FIRE KUBIAK KAMPAIGN!!

This is the SECOND unit on the three unit team that is a COMPLETE FAIL!

The Offense is not a complete fail .. but it is a fail nonetheless

Before this season, Jacoby has been a top 5-10 returner in the NFL

Matt Turk isn't bad, neither is Rackers.

Our return game and coverage SUCK.

I personally think Turk is the worst punter in the NFL, he seems to always shank his punts, if it is a short punt he punts it in the end zone. It's not a huge factor but every aspect of the Texans suck.

I think turk is absolutely awful. He rarely is able to pin a team down...tons of touchbacks.

After taking a cursory look at the stats, it seems like Turk is pretty average, which is what I thought.

His average touchbacks per punt and inside-the-20 per punt seems to be right in the middle of the pack.

Not sure what you guys are referring to.

In 2009 it seems he may have been a little above average, even.

We need to find Turk a bride with dragon green eyes so he can regain his 1997 pro-bowl form.

Turk is horrible. Seems like every time we're pinned back he either kicks it off the side of his foot or it bounces backwards. If we're near midfield and need a short punt it bounces forward damn near into the stands. This team is off the charts pitiful. But bless their hearts.............they're battlin'

Trindon Holliday has sprinter speed, and will be an excellent return man, he just got hurt.

Holliday looked even more inept than Jacoby before he got hurt.

I'm shocked he wasn't outright cut.

You must not have saw him in the preseason. He was brutal. Hopefully it was just rookie jitters but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Neil Rackers is average, but Matt Turk is HORRIBLE (no other way to put it).

Turk is brutal. He is the king of the 25 yard specials at the absolute worst time.
