First of all, have you ever actually trained someone other than yourself? When people fatigue their form suffers, you can correct them, they'll do a couple reps correctly then start cheating again - it happens and it happened in that video. Yao started to cheat, Falsone corrected him, Yao did a couple good reps then he started to cheat again. It happens my friend. Honestly, you don't need a ton of upper body strength to be an effective BB player. I've worked with some pros and not many lift any weight worth talking about. When Durant came into the league dude couldn't bench 185, and he doesn't seem to suffer because of it. A lot of BB players don't even like to lift, the Rockets used to fine guys 500 bucks if they didn't train twice a week. How pathetic is that? These guys like playing BB not weight training. I know there's always exceptions, but trust me they would prefer to be on the court vs in the weight room. You brought up Joe Defranco, completely different situation as he primarily works with football players, and those guys love lifting. By the way, I can find you videos on youtube of guys training with Joe D using terrible form, particularly on some of their DLs. Bad form on a bicep equals less stress on the biceps, bad form on a DL equals VERY high chance of a serious back injury.
This is my whole point in the thread, some things that happen on the court can't be prevented. I wish they could because it sucks for us when guys miss time. IF we had guys missing time with rampant tendonitis, back issues, and muscle strains then we'd have a good case for saying our staff sucks.
Yes I have trained others for years in the military and before i went and after I got out. Family members, friends, and working buddies. I understand your point of view and as evidence Brooks is one of those guys to support your side even. I am merely concentrated mostly on Yao and Tmac who seemed to want to train alot and put alot of time in to train to get better. Have stopped lately completely but have the knowledge still there. I only concentrate on those willing. Yao seemed like one of those guys. Only the willing get results. By trained? Yes, meant introduced to weight lifting and getting in shape and building for what they wanted to achieve. Endurance, strength, or tone. I completely understand your angle on certain specific athletes and sports though. Misunderstanding between us over specifics is the culprit perhaps..
Believe me I saw some bad things in that video. I didn't like half the core exercises they had Yao doing and one of the good ones he had sloppy form (check the turkish get up in the video). I've witnessed some pro athletes of all sports (NFL, MLB, and NBA) using goofy exercises and questionable form. Most of us that love to train would think most of these guys would love to train, but often it's not the case. The guys are often so gifted physically they don't have to train that hard. They get used to things coming to them easily. It can be frustrating.
I dont know RV6? You seem like the type who might come visit me or hide in my bushes if we have too many exchanges at clutchfans. I have got a family, and am doing fine, with two cars, and a home, and plenty to eat these days. Merry Christmas. I consult others. Although people say I am lousy at it. Comes with the job I think?
