Depends on if VC plays like an old fart who doesn't care or if he plays for a contract next summer. If VC plays well, the Suns will be better because Gortat upgrades them at the C position.

Line on tonight's Magic game is +6 still. Not a bad bet to take vs Philly.

Wow, GREAT trade for the Suns and Wizards, and this really could bite the Magic in the ass down the line.

Not a big fan of Hedo. At all.

It's not a good sign when the two teams you're with are disappointed with you right away (Raps/Suns).

I think this was a not bad trade for the Suns (Gortat will add much needed toughness on the frontcourt). I don't think the Magic will improve much, if at all.

It's kind of ironic that the Magic brought back Hedo after letting him walk a few years back. He was really the x-factor in their finals run a couple of seasons ago. This trade favors the Suns quite a bit though. They got Pietrus and Gortat for basically Hedo and an expiring contract.

He did great with the Magic in 08-09 . He was one of the biggest reasons why the Magic went to the NBA finals vs Lakers.

I believe it will benefit both players. Maybe Carter more than J-Rich.

That's great and all, but I don't think he's the same player he was 2 years ago. If he was so great, why did Magic let him go at the time? I think it's a pipe dream that Hedo will be able to revive his career in Orlando.

Just lol at David Aldridge. Said the move is a roll of a dice, sort of like Houston rolling the dice on Artest (Houston didn't give up anything of worth...) and Artest was a disaster in Houston (Really???) and Lakers rolled the dice on him and it's been great.

Just goes to show a lot of these guys only pay attention to 4 teams and thats it.

I never understand why people say this. Everytime should hope their best player doesn't get hurt.

Salary wise, my back of the envelope calc is:

Orlando: This year -$5MM; Long term +$18MM
Washington: This year +$3MM; Long term -$14MM
Phoenix: This year -$1MM; Long term -$5MM

I do wonder how the potential lock out is affecting team thinking on trades due to:
    * Need to win now ahead of lock out
    * Possibility of not having to pay future salary commitments during lock out

is the last year of Lewis' deal guarenteed, thought i read somewhere it is not fully, add that to a potential lock out and that 3 year contract is not too bad

orlando is taking a chance, removing Carter can only help and maybe if somehow Turkeyglue recaptures the magic then this could work, the key will be Jrich, if he can keep his shooting percentage and scoring pace going, i like, but this of course is going to be effected by Gil being Gil and if he shoots all the time

not only that but players that can take over a game with their scoring ability.
I mean if everything goes as it should, teams won't be able to double team dh12. Arenas would kill you, or jrich would drive in or shoot over you. He'll even turkey glue.

Plus aren't arenas and turkoglu considered clutch?

Used to be, now both are considered "washed up".
