Its not what they gained, but how they controlled the reaction from fans. Aaron Brooks goes down w/ a terrible ankle sprain then Yao goes down with a career ending injury, it's alot to handle being a Rockets fan. So..........They hold off the report, make it seem like it's just a mild "ankle sprain". The team starts playing better, all the while Yao's supposedly "itching to come back and play". All of sudden, bam, doctors accidentally find another stress fracture in Yao's foot again I never officially bought the whole "Yao's ready, but he needs to rebuild the muscle around his ankle" story.
It doesn't make sense that Yao knew about this microfracture and he was still telling reporters that he felt he was ready to play.
Called it once, twice, and so on........Lets face it, Chinese are not meant for contact sports period. Trade his ass if anyone will take his expiring deal and roll without him. Liked him as a person but always looked clumsy as a basketball player. For once i received the news last and yes it hurts but oh well. Sign him as a staff member and still make benjamins off of him.
It makes perfect sense if your Yao and the organization, and you want to spin the "very sad" story of a player who had his career ended by a freak accident. Lets be realistic, stress fractures dont just appear. How can a mild ankle sprain magically turn into a stress fracture in a matter of two weeks?
These are some of the best doctors in the world, who get paid millions of $$$, with the best technology. They knew his career was over LONG before the media reported this crap.
No, it doesn't. It would have been no less sad if the news was released a month back. Stress fractures don't just appear, true. It was a gradual thing, starting probably from early November. It was misdiagnosed after the Washington game as an ankle bone bruise, the problem was exacerbated during the latest rehab stint, and it showed up in the most recent MRI.
Actually stress fractures actually do appear. But not 6 weeks later from an initial injury. More like 2 weeks. I agree something just seems so fishy about this.
How? The Rockets were playing terrible ball at the time. Aaron Brooks (our best player) just went out with a injury, and then Yao turns around and re-injures his foot for the final time. It was the worst time Yao could've got hurt. Sounds like a cop out. These doctor(s) get paid too much money to "misdiagnose" a problem EVERYBODY saw coming. Its foolery. Could you have imagined the negative PR the organization would've recieved if they announced Yao's career is over? Especially after they were trying to INCREASE his limit of minutes? It makes the Rockets look bad. The organization spent too much time and money on Yao to have him go out like that. So they manipulated the outcome a little bit, to save face
Also, there was a second gunman on the grassy knoll. And the US government clearly had a hand in the 9/11 attacks. The flu vaccine is a plot to sicken and kill the general populace. Y'know, because I've thought about it all, and it just makes sense, m'kay?
