I know this is a very simple idea. But couldn't Yao just wear like 3 or 4 layers of cushioned socks?

It would reduce impact, and since he doesn't really rely on his speed to score...

I would rather see Hakeem Olajuwon do something like that than Yao. He would be better at teaching them on how not to get stripped so much when making a move for the basket with the ball.

Yao Ming is the black Bill Walton.

Good to see that his sense of humor didn't suffer a stress fracture (which is more than we can say about many here. :))

    Fixed.

Amazing how this world becomes more misinformed by the decade due to pop culture.

Yao being injured doesnt bother me. It's the fact the organization, and the houston media, once again BAMBOOZLED us into thinking his injury wasnt significant and that he was ready to come back. If you think they just up and "found" a stress fracture this morning, your an idiot. The organization obviously knew of this, as Yao, they just wanted to control how the story was handed to the fans. Instead of telling us from the jump, they toyed with you and had ya'll (and me) that Yao had a future this season. It seems care too much about how Rocket fans look at them, so they manipulate news stories. Very sad :(
