You were right. I used a simlar word, eggshell, to describe the fragility of Yao's bones and to illustrate that he had no future in b-ball, but DD very arrogantly corrected me, "Thank God we're talking about bones and not eggs."

Then he went on a long, fathead harangue about Ilgauskas and how Yao's recovery path would follow his in each and every way.

DD, never knew you had a medical degree, and never knew you could predict the future perfectly. You're like William Kristol in 2003 on the eve of invading Eye-rack boastfully predicted how everything would turn out. Like him, will you be too cowardly to admit you were dead wrong (and extremely arrogant to boot)?

    I won't hold my breath.

I wish Yao the best, but he's done. Hopefully this will end the unrealistic hope that many people had of him returning and being a regular contributor to this team. Now the good news is that his $17 million expiring contract will either be coming off the books or the Rockets can use it in a trade. Thanks for everything Yao. It's time to move on.

Yup. Injury curse follows the rockets when they get great players.

Burn the jerseys, they have brought nothing but bad luck...go back to the Championship jerseys.

Is that because you think RA will leave since he has no real stars? Because I actually think no Yao suits RA's system better. Yao + Adelman Offense = square peg, round hole IMO.

KLove in our offense would be nice, I agree with you there.

This is a sentiment I can get behind. Weren't the designs influenced by the chinese? Since Yao won't be playing anymore, no reason to wear them. They're ugly as fawk.

Yao is what, 30? Let him rehab for 2 years and sign him for the minimum. When he'll be 32, he'll come back playing 20min/game as a back up center. Isn't it that hard?

i hope Les isn't stubborn and he trades yao's expiring deal.....i take it it's a tmac scenario all over again and trading him is the best option.

Dalembert maybe? Then hope to re-sign him?

Lol it's the truth though.... I mean he missed a lot of games no need to ignore that IMO.

I'm not hating on Yao how can you the guy is a class act, but I sure as hell am glad the Rockets can move on and stop building around someone who unfortunately couldn't stay healthy.

ONLY chance we have is with Yao? So, um, signing Melo Man Ace or getting some other superstar leaves us with no chance?

Newsflash: Yao Ming is not Jesus Christ.

Well, if Morey's mantra is "buy low", he should extend Yao's contract at the veteran's minimum for 5 years NOW.

I wouldn't mind signing Yao for peanuts and letting him rehab in the background taking up 1 roster spot we wouldn't be using anyway. Daryl can now build a team not centered around Yao and use him as a role player.
