I love you but... Show me the money!

According to the Toronto Sun Cuttino may cut ties with Houston to go with Raptors. http://www.canoe.ca/BasketballToronto/jul20_mob.html ...
And all you need to hear is what he said about his good friend and Rocket teammate Steve Francis. "I love Steve to death, and I know he won't be mad at me if I decide to go with Toronto." Ouch.

I can't say I blame him. But I sure wish it wasn't about the money.

So at least we have plenty of money to get Webber and maybe even Rashard... But what can we do this off season... How about Mercer?

    How should that statement hurt?

He's not severing his ties, he is telling the truth. I have read and heard Steve say that he wants Cuttino back, but that he understands if he leaves.

    Oh!

And of course the TORONTO sun is going to report that cuttino is already signing with the raptors.

dont have the money for Mercer, and if the Rockets did, he would be way too expensive for a back-up sg.

Clutch has confimred that inside Rocket sources also see Cuttino leaning heavily towards Toronto. On the bright side, he also mentions the Rockets working hard to get Rashard Lewis, so turn that frown upside down....or something like that.

Since Cuttino is pretty much gone, then we have some more money to spend on Rashard Lewis dont we?

Will we be able to outright sign him, or will Seattle be able to match our offer, forcing us to do a sign and trade?

We will, however, have more money next year if Mobley leaves, unless we sign someone else this summer.
