with this trade there is no doubt that JT was showcased in order to move him. I was as puzzled as most others why Ish was moved to the bench when he was playing pretty well. There is no basketball rational to bench Ish and play JT.

With this move there is no doubt that Morey asked JT to be in the rotation.

There is a lot of short term and long term consequences here.

    1. Morey has huge amount of power in the organisation, in order to dictate playing time decision to a veteran respected coach like Adelman requires huge leverage on his part.

    2. We have to treat his words much more carefully, he is always on record as saying the coach makes the playing time decisions but we know this is not the case now.

    3. The players now know that Rick is not fully in charge, this could lead to an eroding of his power with the players.

    4. Who knows what past(tmac anyone) rotation decisions were made by Morey and not Adelman. And what this says about the future(Yao, Lowry/AB situation, Bud, etc...) We can never fully trust that Adelman is in charge of any controversial roster decisions.

It's a nice theory, but.. JT was just traded for absolutely nothing. You don't have to showcase a guy to do that.

The Rockets traded Taylor just to open up space for Terrence Williams.

And they did it with a deal that was being talked about long before Taylor started getting playing time.

omg puke. its a collaborative effort. they work together. theres no conspiracy here or breaking news to be gleaned. do you think morey is some malevolent force out to get adelman? if you're not winning games you can expect to see some lineup changes. it can coincide with roster changes or it might not.

showcasing a player for trade is as old as players and trades have existed. every team does it when the situation calls for it.

    I wouldn't be surprised.

The fact is, this deal won't be official tomorrow due to Joe Smith not being able to be traded until December 15th. I wouldn't be shocked if this trade were agreed to in principle weeks ago and being leaked to the press now.

Perhaps "showcasing" Jermaine was done so that we didn't have to cut him (saving us $).

one obvious moreyism is that we're doing 2 for 1's at 32-36s EVERY quarter now.

Ish started getting less and less minutes before JT came into the picture. Maybe there's some truth to it, but there's no doubt ish wasn't cutting it and Lee needed to back up the point some, whih left minutes at the back up SG position.

You're really really reaching with the stuff about RA losing power. There is such thing as them cooperating. It doesn't have to be Morey forcing RA to do things he doesn't want to do.

How do we equate Terrance Williams to nothing? Terrance Williams is a solid player and a VAST improvement over Jermaine Taylor. He might be our starting SF of the future. You folks must have been asleep his rookie year.

they're refering to the specific JT trade....yes, you could say we traded JT and the pick for TW, but technically it was two separate deals and in the JT deal we won't be getting anything back.

No one equated Terrance Williams to nothing. This is about the JT trade to Sacramento for a 2nd round pick.

JT was traded for nothing. The majority of 2nd round picks don't last past their rookie contracts, and that's if they get signed at all to a rookie contract or left to rot unsigned.

I don't see the line of thinking. At the end of the day we give something away and get something back. That is the way 3-team deals work. We gave up JT and a pick and got back Terrence Williams.

that's because it needs to be done that way, i'm guessing he's using the landry TE because the salaries don't match and it's almost expired, but of course the nets want something back so you do it in separate deals to make the numbers work.

    There are 1,000 explanations.

    1) Adelman thought JT should be in the rotation.
    2) Adelman and Morey decided to showcase JT together.
    3) Alexander told Adelman and Morey that he wanted JT showcased.
    4) Morey requested Adelman move JT into the rotation because he thought he should be in the rotation.
    5) Morey told Adelman, "I might be able to JT for Player X if you get him some playing time. Would you like to have Player X?"
    6) Ish insulted Adelman's mom.
    7) Ish insulted Morey's mom.
    8) JT brought Adelman some cookies.
