Speaking of Wlad, have you guys been keeping up with Dr "Steelhammer"?
Wlad had a fight over the weekend, but had to pull out due to an abdominal tear.

His opponent is a loudmouth Zimbabwean named Derek Chisora who now makes his home in London .This is the stupidest loser that I've ever known in all of my life following boxing. He is a nobody and Wlad offered him a chance of a lifetime to fight for the titles, sort of Apollo Creed offered Rocky the chance to fight for the title. What does this confirmed and convicted woman beater(He beat his ex-girlfriend and was convicted and sentenced this year by the British courts) do?

He proceeded to insult Wlad, these are some of his insults: Wlad had fought nobodies, only cab drivers so far. Wlad is running scared of him. Manny Steward(Wlad's trainer) is an Uncle Tom. Hayden Panitiere(Wlad's girlfriend) is only 3 feet tall. Chisora also said the reason he beat his ex-girlfriend is because she's bigger than Hayden and can take it.

Well, needless to say, before the fight Wlad was furious and warned Chisora that he will punish him and Chisora will be twice the loser. Wlad tore his ab muscle a few days before the fight and the fight was cancelled.

Now the brain-dead Chisora is running his mouth again and demanded a rescheduled fight with Wlad, but his people failed to inform him that the contract that he signed with Wlad has a clause in it that said Wlad and his promo company does have have to reschedule the fight, meaning they could just drop Chisora outright.

Wlad's people is acticely negotiating with another loudmouth British boxer(you all know who he is) David Gaye. The mega fight between Wlad and Gaye could happened next Spring in Vegas.

How does that taste Chirosa you woman beater? If the undisputed, multiple titles holder heavyweight champ of the world offered you a chance of lifetime, you thanked him and give props to him, but you chose to insult him.

You Derek"Delboy" Chisora qualified to be the moron boxer of the year!

    End rant!

P.S. Personally, I still want to see Wlad wipe the floor with this convict for insulting his trainer and his girlfriend!

The past fights Manny has taken were against fighters on their way down. Not to take anything from Manny, whose a great fighter, but moving up in weight to fight easy wins is not worth watching. None of his fights since Marquez/Pacquiao II have been as interesting.

    Antonio Margarito (one sided)
    Joshua Clottey (snooze fest)
Ángel Cotto (only decent fight and good knocked down)
Ricky Hatton (overrated, saw knocked coming from mile away)
Oscar De La Hoya (washed up fighter and had trouble making weight)
    David Díaz (decent fight)

These are the only other opponents I would pay to see fight Manny (besides Money May)

    Sergio Martinez
    Andre Berto
Juan Manuel Marquez (the only recent fighter to give Manny problems)

    my 2 cents

    Catch weight ~ 150lbs

Manny is naturally a light weight boxer and has been moving up to win titles in higher weight classes. Of course it has been against inferior talent but if he wants to continue the move up he should at least face some good talent. Martinez is near the top of the lb for lb list and with his spectacular win against Williams this adds to his attraction. If he keeps this up it will start to draw similarities to Mayweather who tends to cherry picks his fights

I won't say casual fans are killing the sport but its always been like that. Honestly, without casual fans, boxing would be dead. They're the ones that help put Mayweather and Pacquaio PPVs over 1 Million buys. Casual fans use to buy Tyson fights just for Tyson. He'd be fighting a bum but It didn't matter because people wanted to see Tyson beat somebody up. They wanted to be entertained. All the big stars like Tyson, Oscar, Floyd and Manny have had casual fans that just want to see them fight, regardless of who they're fighting. This is nothing new.

If anything is killing boxing, its boxing itself. There's just too much money in the sport that it trumps everything. Promoters are killing it as well. Manny isn't the only one, "cherrypicked" fights have happened since the beginning. That is how you safely build a boxers career. In fact, most boxer's resumes are filled with more cherrypicked fights, than not. Thats just how the business goes.

Well said. I remember what Dana White's recent interview, there will always be questions and criticisms about a champion... from UFC to Boxing, even in basketball - eq. Rockets' 2peat.
