Why are the Lakers doing this trade? I guess it's just for salary-cutting purposes, but giving up a first rounder just to cut about 5 million when they are still waaaayyy over the luxury tax doesn't make much sense. Although their picks are usually 29th or 30th anyway, so I suppose it's not that big of a deal.

Maybe we're waiving Budinger because his stock has plummeted so low.

Man I hope it is the Rockets. I was wishing that the Rockets could somehow get this guy in the draft last year.

T-will is an ELITE run and jump athlete. And the guy can play too. Can score, play point-forward, and defense. Williams was by far the best player in the summer lg and when he was sent to the D-lg he basically averaged a triple double. Word was he was late to practice and got in Avery's doghouse for the reason why he was in the D-lg to begin with.

Budinger and a pick is worth it.

We will probably reach a buyout with Jeffries.

If you don't appreciate Battier, you really don't know anything about basketball.

Um no. T-Will plays calm and cool on the court. Looks like a veteran sometimes. He is a PLAYMAKER and will fit great in this offense.

I really don't think this move is indicative of anything big. Ish cut or JT shipped out maybe. They clearly valued T-Will over one of our 2012 picks and made the move.

Bud cut?! Think again. And do it better this time.

Looks like we may have just given up a first rounder for next year. Not Budinger and/or several picks.

You pretty much said it. They do save a lot of money and their 2011 first round pick would have been a late one anyways. A lot of times teams don't even want a first rounder that late because they are stuck with a guaranteed contract.
