I'd just like to voice my concern about whether Yao will ever be able to overcome comparisons to that unquestioned greatest player ever, that captivating 7-foooter who it seems we drafted only a few short years ago... the man, the legend... Serge Zwikker. We all know that the league realized Zwikker was so great that he was exiled from the league early on to promote fair competition... if he was allowed to play the rockets would just go 82-0 and sweep the playoffs every year, making the game pointless to watch. Will Yao appease our need to quest for a title, or will he only draw comparisons to Zwikker and make us demand that our savior return?
I really don't expect Ming will ever reach the status of Serge "the legend" Zwikker. Just hope he can be as good as that Olajuwon guy and we all should be very happy. My 2 cents. Looks like the off-season will never end...
thanks for telling me about Serge Zwikker, I haven't hear of him before........how long ago this happened to be in???
How can you say no doubt? I know Hakeem was the greatest thing since sliced bread here, but I don't that's fair to Yao if you say no doubt.
the chances of the Rockets getting another center of Olajuwon's caliber at this time (considering the current crop of young centers in college right now) are slim to none Yao will be good but not an Olajuwon...maybe better than Sampson
did Zwikker ever even play in a preseason game i was actually excited when the rockets drafted him and then nothing happened is he playing over seas? ohh and for you slow ones in the opening post that was sarcasm lol gosh some of these posts are hilarious!
I was the first one replied to that post and I know it was sarcasm from second 1. I would be very surprised if someone would think I was saying that seriously...LOL May be I should have added the eye-rolling icon at the end in that post
Just in case you guys are wondering, YES I'M REALLY BORED!!! However, when NBA 2K3 comes out on Tuesday, you probably won't hear from me in about, oh... 3 months.
