    Strength of schedule

4 out of the 6 playoff teams in each conference have among the 5 easiest schedules in each respective conference.

That is why the Texans really blew it last year.

Not losing games to 50 yard hail mary that your CB should have intercepted and not losing to a Mark Sanchez two minute drill.

Well we have had the toughest schedule this season.
So next year we are due for an easy one!

the texans were in every game, they could have overcome a tough schedule with competent end of the game play calling on both sides of the ball. Bad coaching is something that cannot be overcome

pretty much sums it up. And our strength of schedule is ridiculous this year but Indy, Tennessee, and Jacksonville are all having a down year, yet we can't capitalize on it. The AFC South is about as weak as I've seen it in past years. Texans coaching is to blame.

Exactly. While I won't say this is the most talented of teams . . . I think the main reason we not in the playoffs . . . is in Coaching.

Eh, take away division opponents and then take away the record of the team who you are determining SoS for from the record of their opponents. That's true SOS. Take away the Falcons 11-2 record from their opponents and it would be a bit better.

Cmon man, Texans should have won 4 more games out of 7, each game had the lead in the half and they blew it in the 4th quarter.

the texans are arguably in the weakest division. they beat the division leader soundly at the beginning of the year. they still have another game against an imploding titans.
