This "fourth-quarter scoring" stat pisses me off now, and is one reason why we are continually overrating Carl. It's meaningless, as defenses weren't dealing with Landry during that time. We don't need him, Hill will be better then Landry. Period.

you are clueless, his fourth quarter scoring, and quickness around the basket forced teams to adjust to him and double team, which gave guys open looks.

I'd acquire him if we traded away one of our other Bigs to get a wing player...otherwise, I'd rather see if PP can be the two way player we so lack.

Has he gotten taller and improved his defense and rebounding?

If so, bring him back. I liked him, too.

As much as I'd rather be arguing who should get more time between Scola and Landry, we really need a good defensive center. If we could get him on the cheap, yeah.

I'd give up Patterson in a heart beat, JJ too. Hill has looked pretty good and has the raw skills, but I'd let him go as well.

The thing is many of you over rated Landry when he was here and now I see the same thing with Hill, PP, Ish. Taylor and Bud. The guys are promising but still young and raw. Kind of like Landry, some players find a role with the right team, right coach, and right system. When they get traded everything is different, roles, system and they don't produce as they did previously.

If we got him back, expectations would be high and he probably wouldn't meet expectations.

C- Yao, Miller and Hayes (If Yao can stay healthy)
PF- Scola, Landry and Hill (doesn't sound bad though).

The Rockets have a lot of problems this season. Having too many good players is NOT one of them.

    This.

The first sentence, anyhow. The second sentence might be right, but is less astute than the first.

Yeah, lol. I know that when when I see a team with a 9-14 record, my FIRST thought is that obviously there are too many good players on that team.

It's hard, it's like having a dream team together, with so many future alpha dog franchise players like Budinger and Brooks together and only one basketball, the media circus..it's just too much.

Brooks and Bud future alpha dogs?

Do you really look at them and say to yourself, "look out Wade, Bron, Kobe, Melo....here comes Brooks and Bud!"

I think you miss what a team is all about. There are always examples in the NBA of teams of good players that aren't a good team. The Heat, up until recently, weren't a very good team. The Wizards of a couple of years ago were better than their record. The Mavs are frequently better as a collection of individuals than they are as a team.

And, the example that I can't get out of my mind, is the Dallas Cowboys under Wade Phillips.

So, just because a team isn't so good, doesn't mean they don't have plenty of good players. There's more to it than that.

If we could get him with just giving up one player like Jefferies, then I'd have no problem with bringing him back. But it is unlikely and I'd rather not given we don't have a lot of minutes to spare in the front court anyway.

And obviously this is what is occurring on the Rockets right now with Chuck Hayes, Kyle Lowry, and Shane Battier all being bottom 5 starters in the NBA at their positions. Morey did a bangup job assembling all this outstanding talent and the only thing holding them back is that they can't work together as a team....ROFL.

What talent? We have one of the least talented teams in the league.

    Stop ROFLing!

I halfway agree with you. They need to figure out how to make it work. And, it would help if they traded away some of the excess pieces for a couple of (at least) borderline all-stars.

Hayes and Battier are role players, really, but KL isn't our best point guard, whether he keeps starting or not. And, Hayes isn't our best center. He might be our 4th-best center.

Part of straightening out the rotations is to sit some players that don't deserve to sit, because you can't come up with a sensible way to use them. I submit that it has been years since we effectively used McGrady.

Look at Miami - with all that talent, it took them a few weeks to get it straightened out, and even now they're talking about trading Bosh.

Morey has overvalued his players with his "2-deep at every position". Talent-wise we are not that good and your sarcasm is on point. Morey has constructed a deeply flawed team with a 6'6" starting center, a shoot-first pg who can't defend, a backup pg who can't shoot, a starting sg who is really good at scoring but nothing else, an aging s/f who is now inconsistent with the only reliable shot he has, a star center who has missed nearly 200 games in the last year, a backup center who shoots threes but can't defend his own mother if she was driving, etc...

In short, too many one-way players, who are mostly exposed from their lack of height and defensive abilities. Is it a wonder that our defense looks like a sieve?

Sorry for being so negative. Absent some major trades to improve this team, we will be on the outside looking in come playoff, again.

I will continue watching and supporting the team, but
