David Aldridge sounded promising that Croshere could be here on the Rockets ,if he does not sign with the Pacers, He named only two teams other than Indiana in the running for Crosheres services and he mentioned the Rockets second, so it look like we are getting closer to getting him. The other team David mentioned first was Toronto after TMac leaves there was a good PT for Croshere there. But I think Croshere likes Houston better than Toronto due to poor Management.

Gettiing Croshure would be great. This should convince Mobley even more. I would feel very solid about the future of the rocks if we signed Croshure. Would that mean the Rocks will be looking for a SF next year?
Who are the small foreward FA?

Signing Croshure and Mobley would make so many teams green.

What if Toronto was able to sign Mobley because they miss out on Croshere? Personally, I'd rather have Croshere than Mobley. I think they're probably about the same in terms of talent... but Croshere plays a position we're deficient at, and seems to have a better attitude.

What about the rest of you?

If I had to choose between them , I would choose Croshere. I would still like to have both though.

Where is the playing time for Croshere in Toronto?

    SF is Air Canada
PF is Oakley & A Davis

Where would they play him and give him more minutes than he would get in Houston. We can give a starting position and more minutes at both SF & PF.

I saw on NBA Today that Jalen Rose would be moving to the point guard position so that Croshere can start at small forward next season so that's not going to help the rockets chances at getting Croshere.

I'd chose Cat, because he has great chemistry with the Houston coaches and players. Getting Croshere and Cat would definitely be sweet though.

Although Cat's my favorite Rocket, I think Croshere would be a great short term move. However, thinking long term, I still think Francis' chances of hanging around after free agency are enhanced innumerably by Mobley remaining in the pinstripes.

The Rockets have been weak at SF since the Rockets dissed Mario by not paying him what he was worth. I'd like to see Austin fill in at the SF position with KT and 'los playing PF.

As an aside, I would be shocked to see either of the new rookies in the pinstripes past the all star break. Those guys couldn't play themsleves onto a European team.

Explain yourself. How do you know about these players when you've never seen them play in an NBA game? Did you think Cuttino Mobley, pick 41st in '98, would be the player he is today from that spot? I bet you thought he wouldn't amount to much either when he was drafted. You need to stop reading these BS scouting reports and looking at things like the color of their skin, etc. and give them a chance to play. They could be stars for all you know. So why not shut up about them until you've actually given them a chance to play?

Actually I thought Mobley at the 41st pick wasnt a bad decision at all.

But if your going to scream at someone for going along with the concensious scouting reports, then you better not hype up any rookie till the season starts.

But I also don't think you thought Mobley would be a big contributor.

I'm not trying to hype up Collier and Langhi- that's not what I want. I just don't want to hear people talk about how sorry they are until they actually see them play. I'm not saying Collier will be a star. Hell, he may not even be good for all we know. But give Collier and Rudy a chance before you jump to conclusions and call it a terrible pick. That's all I want.

Well if we're going to go with the consensus rookie reports then perhaps some of us should read them.... I believe they've got Collier as a solid 7 footer who can shoot from range and rebounds well and is not afraid to bang around in defense. Now all I hear on this BBS is that he's a soft Matt Bullard. The Cat is right, people are pigeonholing him because of the colour of his skin or because they wanted to draft someone else....

As for Dan Langhi, if you've seen him play you'd be VERY excited about the prospect of him being a rocket. If he's another Matt Bullard then I'm not here. He has a lot more skills and I'm pretty sure that his scouting report says a LOT of good things about him - did we say we were reading the consensus scouting reports or not?

But it's not really possible to tell just how good or bad a player they will be until they've stepped out on the court in an NBA game and shown what they're made of, so like the Cat says, stop criticising them unfairly and give them a chance.

What about Al Harrington and Jonathan Bender? They are projected to play some(most likely start) at SF and PF. They are younger and cheaper. That is the reason that Ind may feel compelled to let Croshere go because they need cash to sign Miller and Rose.

If the man would have played like he was supposed to and not pout about possibly being traded, he would have got the money he wanted.

If I've gotta choose between the two, I have to take Cat. Croshere is a guy, who, despite having a good postseason, only averaged ten points and six points a game last year. Mobley's got unbelievable chemistry with this team already, as well as being one of Stevie's best friends. I don't think we can allow Cat to get away.

Please. It was Houston's fault? Elie wasn't playing particularly well, and Damon Stoudamire might have landed Houston a championship. That sort of deal is a MUST TAKE despite any sentimental value. Myself, I take such value into account... but not when the deal is THAT good.

Gascon: which way do youw ant it? You don't blame players for taking the money to leave a team, but at the same time, a team isn't entitled to place the good of the team ahead of the individual? This seems contradictory.

about croshere and mobley. i think that mobley is a much bigger need then croshere. sure we need a small forward, badly even. but croshere isn't a small forward. he's tooooooooo slow. he plays power forward. he's basically always played power forward. that's why they traded away antonio davis. they wanted to give this kid some playing time to see what he could do (and also to let him showcase his talents to the league so he could bolt to another team for more money, heheheheh). we actually need mobley a lot more, because without him we only have about one guy who can create his own shot (walt kind of can, but we don't really want to depend on him too much). we need mobley a lot more. croshere would be nice, but if why might want to focus more on getting rashard lewis next year. he's what we really need.

I guess we'll just find out this upcoming season how well they'll do - because they are guaranteed to be in pinstripes - as in GUARANTEED contracts.. at least his first season in the instance of Langhi. Of course, Collier's contract is pretty much in line for someone at his draft position.

I personally think that they both will do a pretty good job this next season. Call it a feeling.

I am not dissing him. I happen to like the guy a lot. He was never the same player after he broke his wrist on the hard foul from Jalen Rose(I think). His shot % went south and he lacked some of the fire that he once had. He was a key to our championships and I will always respect for that. I did not like his comments about the organization after he was gone but he has since apologized for his comments.

For the record, I would have jumped at the Stoudamire deal as well.
