Best argument as to why Lowry should remain as the starter. Still, we need them both, unless a Brooks trade could bring us a real good starter at s/f.
good job, now we're going to gas his head up and make him think too much about making shots great job chronicle, bye.
Don't forget his mancrush on nonproductive players of a certain color: Spanoulis, Novak, Nachbar, and Langhi.
What are you talking about? DDQ is color blind. That's a Hall of Fame team with the right coaching. Boki could probably play the 2 in that lineup meaning they are only a 5 away from a championship dynasty. After all, Spanoulis is the T-mac of Greece.
Their roles are similar, not their styles of games, but their roles as a scoring point. A point that is just as likely to shoot or score as one that is to pass. That is where I was comparing them in their roles, not in their games. I hate posts like this, that are innaccurate, and just meant to incite......it is all about style of play for me...and the last time I looked, Aaron Brooks was not caucasian. Why can't we as Rocket fans just cheer on our players? And folks wonder why I point out when I am proven right, it is because I take more crap on here, it is simply staggering. You guys go ahead and believe Lowry should start, fine by me......I am sure you will all continue to b****, whine and moan when he doesn't......**** happens. The truth is the truth, the podcast put out by the ROCKETS TEAM"S EMPLOYEES, talks about all of this.....it is what it is..... DD
DD, I agree that the post was out of line. I don't think for a moment that you favor certain players because of their skin color. As you pointed out, AB puts the lie to that theory. Why can't we as Rocket fans just cheer on our players? Because if that were all we do here, this place would be a desert! And be fair yourself. You don't simply "cheer our players." You ardently and incessantly promote and defend your favorite players. Heck, so do I, as anyone paying attention might have noticed with regards to Luis versus Leeb, for example. What you do goes beyond that, however, in my opinion. Not only in sheer volume (how I wish I could type half as fast as you obviously can!), but the way you'll attack possible targets in a trade if that possible trade scenario involves one of "your guys." The vilification of Anthony, for example, and Bosh. Not that giving a strong opinion is "wrong." That's why we're all here, after all. It's just that I can't think of anyone else on the board (worth reading) who does that sort of thing anywhere near the level you take it to. The digs you've made from time to time at Lowry's expense since AB has been out, and before, when there was a lot of "noise" about some deal that never came off, but seemed a possibilty here. It didn't appear to matter if Kyle was struggling because he was trying to get back into shape after the injuries he's had early this season. Again, I doubt that very many would have made a big deal about it if it wasn't for the volume of posts in threads all over the GARM, some of which you start yourself. Look at this post I've quoted, for example. While you may not have intended to aim it at everyone who would like to see Lowry start over AB, you still say "You guys go ahead and believe Lowry should start, fine by me......I am sure you will all continue to b****, whine and moan when he doesn't......**** happens." Why does it have to be "b****ing and moaning" if some of us think he's just a better fit as a starter for this team? It's just an opinion. They are all opinions and many, including some from me, I'm sure, go overboard, but look in a mirror. The dude staring you in the face needs a life preserver. That cat has gone over the rail and is in the water! Just an opinion on my part. I think you're a valuable asset to the board and one of the fans here that help make ClutchFans what it is, the best NBA fan site in the country. Maybe if you turned the "volume" down to an 8, instead of a non-stop 10. (I'm going out of town again, so I had to get in a post or two before struggling with my damn iPhone... you just got lucky! ;-)-...)
Using the fact that Lowry got a new contract while Brooks does not show that one if valued more then the other. Lowry got a new contract because they had to give him one in order to keep him. No one on the current rockets has gotten a contract extension, so by your logic, they obviously don't value any of thier players. And why is it that some fans think the Rockets volume of trading makes it an unfavorable destination, while other fans (maybe the same) don't think dropping someone out of the lineup has no effect on players? I don't see much value in moving Brooks to the bench. There is no reason that you can't use Brooks to spark the offense as many hope for while he's in the starting lineup, or Lowry won't be in when his services are needed most. The starters do play with the bench players for much of the game on most teams. We don't much right now because of our depth and lack of a clear top 8 players. Personally, I'd like to see the Rockets keep the starters as is (when Brooks and Yao come back), then have the first substitution be Hill for Yao, and Lee for Battier, and Lowry for Martin. Slide Brooks to shoot guard and run like hell.
