Paul Pierce is listed as 6 7', 235 lbs. Not sure when this was updated because we all know he's packed on a few pounds through the years
Not a travel. Dribbles right before he hop steps into the lane. It's not even close. Another huge SF = Carmelo Another huge SF = Pierce Another huge SF = Battier Another huge SF = Gay Honestly SF's 6'8 or taller aren't that rare. LeBron might be a little heavier than most but he's definitely not a PF.
It's before the hop step, once he crosses over. He takes like 4 steps to get his change of direction before he dribbles again going into the hop step.
It's not travel. It's called "carrying." You can't travel while you are dribbling. Carrying is rampant in today's NBA. Look at the way they dribbled before the '80s. They pretty much keep their hands on the top of the ball all the time. The carrying rule has been gradually loosened over the years.
No need to complain about a no call like traveling or carrying. If you have been watching the NBA for eyars you should know plenty of players get away with it.
I support complaints about carrying in the NBA because so many "broken ankle" videos and threads are the result of lame-ass carrying. Carrying to break ankles is the same as holding someone down with an off-hand on their shoulder to block their shot. The video in real time may look like they made a great play, but when slowed down you can see they should have had a penalty charged on them. I'm annoyed that palming and carrying aren't called more and hope people continue to complain or at least point out when these "ankle breaking" videos are a result of, in this case, an offensive player turning the basketball completely over in the palm of their hand going right before then going left while taking 3 steps in the course of half a dribble.
These PFs might disagree with you: Kris Humphries (6'9, 235) Elton Brand (6'9, 254) Reggie Evans (6'8, 245) Hakim Warrick (6'9, 219) Carl Landry (6'9, 248) JJ Hickson (6'9, 242) Leon Powe (6'8, 240) Jason Maxiell (6'7, 260) Brian Cardinal (6'8, 240) Boris Diaw (6'8, 245) Eduardo Najera (6'8, 235) Brandon Bass (6'8, 250) Renaldo Balkman (6'8, 208) Kenyon Martin (6'9, 240) Paul Millsap (6'8, 250) Sure, Lebron might be one inch shorter than most, but he's definitely built like a lot of power forwards.
not traveling....you are allowed to take two steps in rhythm after you stop dribbling. if that's traveling, then anyone who's ever done a layup in a layup line would be traveling.
What's are these layup lines you speak of? Srsly though, everyone gets a gather step or 2, lol, gettingt ready for an action to take place. I do see a lot of switching of pivot foots on the perimeter in the NBA these days... I just say "travel" and go about my business cause they do.
