is...Wisconson. I just think they have the best combination of trenches on both sides of the ball, skill players, and a QB with skill (throwing and running) and leadership. IMO the latter is what distinguishes them from Ohio State, the next best team in the Big 10. We will test my prediction a little today--but I expect Wisconson to come out on top of the Big 10.
My bet is Penn State beats Wisconsin today. I think Ohio State is the best in the B10, followed by Iowa & Penn State.
Wisconsin is a good team. OSU does play them in Madison. Strange series the visiting team always seems to win, so maybe playing on the road is a good thing! But overall talent I will still stick with my Buckeyes. Better defense, better running game, better special teams. Wisconsin does have a better QB but with our D it won't matter!
I have seen Penn State and Michigan play a couple of games, Penn State is defintely better IMO. Michigan has an anemic offense. Penn State very much impressed me. Mills was much better than I thought previously--he was quite poised and reasonably athletic. After watching the game on saturday (which I missed the winner again not a good college football karma year so far), I can see why Joe Pa was so pissed the week before when they gave the game away to Iowa. I believe Penn State has a solid chance to win the rest of their regular season games. The winner of the Big 10 will be deciding by the PSU-OSU game IMO. I think Iowa is a pretender, Purdue really had them like PSU did the week before but also blew it on their own mistakes. I still like Wisconson to end the season among the top teams in the Big 10 and be a major spoiler. They should get Lee Evans back soon to really round out the offense. I think the jury is still out for OSU being a complete team and one of the elite teams in the nation (worthy of top 5 ranking). They still have not played a team with any defense yet--the best one they have faced (WSU) has given up 28 or more three times already (WSU gave up 25 to OSU). OSU does have a fine defense themselves though, probably the best overall defense in the Big 10. Their tests begin in about 2 weeks-- though I do not expect OSU to win all their Big 10 games (or any other Big 10 team for that matter--too many of them look reasonably close in talent) and getting in the NC game however.
I'm with Desert Scar and not just because I am a Penn State fan. PSU and OSU will be fighting for the 1 and 2 spots in the Big 10.
