Start Jordan Hill. Play Jermaine Taylor. Reduce Scola's minutes; prolong his career. Let Shane rest or trade him etc. Let Yao rest all year or play 10 minutes every other game to limber up a bit and judge his recovery. Or completely blow up the team. Go for three max free agents. Do something.
Usually around the top of the key, trying to penetrate the defense, but can we stay focused on this brilliant idea of a modified tanking??
PANIC PANIC PANIC PANIC. Admittedly, I'm not sure why you couldn't have made this thread three weeks ago.
Or....play hard, play better, play smarter and get into the playoff hunt. Still 75% of the season left to play.
How about starting Hill and play JT w/o tanking? Maybe I'm too used to mediocrity... but I'd rather watch games where we give 100% even if it means not not going far into the playoffs or getting a good lottery pick at the end of the season.
You're right since there is no way we can make the playoffs at this rate I suggest that we trade our entire Rockets team for our D-League Vipers team and finish out the short amount of the season we have left like that!
First thing you need to do is trade Scola to Miami for Bosh. There's no point in limiting his minutes.
a year too late, next year's draft will suck. but i still agree, play the young guys. Just say no to a 40 win season!
The team has shown us over the last 6 games (with quality wins from OKC, LAL, almost pulled one out against CHI) that 3-10 start was not indicitive of what this team is capable of. Lowry was not playing like himself as he was coming back from an injury and miller, lee were still trying to get adjusted to the rest of the roster. You also had adelman making the mistake of playing chuck hayes more minutes that Jordan Hill, how big has he been on this stretch, he obviously has noticed this mistake and made adjustments since I dont see chuck playig 30 minutes anymore. Still a long season to go and the best schedule of the year ahead of us to make it to .500 by the end of December. We get Aaron brooks back and we have another option for scoring. Yao is a non factor as far as I'm concerned, i just assume he's out for the year. That plus portland is not as good as recent years and neither is the Suns. Grizzlies will still be most likely not be a playoff team so rockets still have a decent chance to get into the playoffs and have something to play for. And when people say "well, what's the point of making it to the 8th seed to be knocked off" did anyone expect the rockets to win the WCF when the year began? So what's than what's the point to even compete if we know we can't even make it to the big dance at the end. C'mon, this is why we play the game, you never know what can happen in the playoffs.
If we're near or at the .500 mark at the end of December, if Brooks is healthy and if Yao is healthy (non of this "no back to backs" and "24-minute limit" BS), we play a LOT of playoff teams - only 3 teams in January that wont make the playoffs (clippers, grizzlies, and timberwolves). Though the January and February are gonna be BRUTAL, this is the best way for us to make up ground in the WC - beat the playoff teams to make up for the slow start.
Did not expect this thread after a win ... Who are these *old* guys of which you speak? Scola (30)? Battier (32)? Yao (30 but not playing)?
