So ESPN is now saying that Spree broke his hand trying to punch the boyfriend of some woman who hurled all over his yacht. I, by the way, am the idiot who wanted to know if the Rockets should try to trade for Spree in the summer, for his "intensity" and his "defense." I guess he can sure defend his yacht's carpet! get off of my ... ouch!
Now I have the Beach Boys "Sloop John B" buzzing around in my head. And after what you posted, B-Bob, it's not a pretty picture! "God Only Knows" when Spree will play again.
Thats funny Deckard, I have that song by The Looking Glass, "Brandy", going round my head. Lonely sailors pass the time away And talk about their lives And there's a girl in this harbor town And she works laying whiskey down They say Brandy fetch another round And she serves them whiskey and wine They say Brandy, you're a fine girl What a good wife you would be You could steal a sailor From the sea
I think there are two funny things about this story. 1) it came out within a day or two of the new friends episode where Joey convinces Ross to punch him but Joey ducks and Ross breaks his thumb. Coincidence? 2) on some sports program here in NY this morning the reporter used a line like "we may never know what really happened" like it's the friekin Bison Dele mystery. I haven't heard yet whether Spree's yacht was named after a Lion King song furthering my own conspiracy theory on the subject.
Spree, Why must you be such an angry young man, When your future looks quite bright to me? Uh, lah dah dee dah dee dee dah dah dah, And you're fooling yourself...
Hmmm. I can kind of see a Ross-like aspect to Latrell's personality. The misunderstood, underappreciated, lesbian-launching passive male. Only an indirect link there, mind you. So what is it with yachts and basketball players? Does the confined hard-wood deck remind them subconsciously of the 3-second lane of a bball court, inciting tension and aggression? As with the Dele threads, I am reminded of pirates again. Pirates! Arrrrr.
I don't think he should go into boxing. It says he missed and hit the wall. I was killing myself laughing when I read this article, but I guess I would be furious if I was a Knicks fan. The stupid things so-called "professionals" do to hurt their teams.
oh no. carpet? barfed on. hand? broken. bank account? dented! Knicks fine Spree Not a good week for Latrell. That's one expensive yacht. Maybe a little pirate action on the side will help pay the fine.
-That is one costly punch! Sprewell not suspended, told to stay away from team -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Latrell Sprewell was fined $250,000 Monday by the New York Knicks, who also told him to stay away from the team until he can make "a positive contribution."
