Seriously, when looking for a job and posting your resume in the Finance industry, why do so many insurance agents contact you. Is insurance a ponzi scheme?

I used to get those emails all the time a few years ago when my resume was online, and I was trying to get out of sales.

Hopefully they aren't calling you as well.

strict commission. under a licensed broker. so it's little cost to them as long as you meet some basic screening. but you may make next to nothing if you're not cut out for it.

That happens to me whenever I post my resume. Sometimes, I'll even say in my profile that I am NOT interested in sales positions - but that doesn't stop them.

I think it's because the turnover rate in the commission-only sales industry is so high they are always looking for fresh meat. It's a cattle call.

so you do the cold calling but not most of the money because you're not licensed?

that makes sense, however I remember this one time a guy called me trying to get me to set up my own office it seemed. started asking me about my net worth.

Every company has a different system. There are direct reps who make salaries. It just depends.
