aaahhh. Like in first half against us?

McGrady's shot selection has changed a lot. This is the reason of his efficiency

Mcgrady interview. Admits he wasn't 100% last year, although that was painfully obvious.

Now if only he could be that motivated every night. Good, very good game.

as you can see, they are playing him mostly as a PG. he's not going to get a lot of shots. even when he was hot initially, he still didn't take shots. it is what it is until his role is a scorer on that team.

Sure, I agree with that. But he can easily get 8-10 points and 3-5 assists in his 18-20 minutes, right?

I am afraid, after a good game he may have games like he had after Knicks game. He looks fine. His role is what it is, but it doesn't mean he can't play well.

He knows what to do. When to pass, when to look to score. But he has to be AGRESSIVE and kinda motivated to play well every night. Hopefully can start doing that.

Jeff Who didn't say anything about the number of shots McGrady took. Is this part of your involuntary McGrady defense response?

i think tmac is best used as a PG/Point forward type. You can't deny his vision and passing skills. I always wanted for the Rockets to run T-Mac at point and have Aaron Brooks at the 2, running off screens and such. We saw a lot of the "point guard" Tmac during our 22-game winning streak. He didn't shoot well but did a great job of finding teammates and creating for others.

Kuester is a horrible coach. He has no idea how to coach in the NBA and how to use his players.

What's more I think he has a really bad chemistry with his players. He's that bad IMO.

T-Mac is such a joke. he has to be motivated to play. His game against Houston will be the best game he'll have this year.

I thought he played well and I think he will have a resurgence ala Grant Hill. Never the same player, but his court vision and ability to be a triple-threat player will make him a valuable role player on many teams.

In a league where defenses don't pick up the intensity until the 4th quarter - he is a great piece to help create high percentage shots for his teammates or getting to the line. His drive is still a step slow but it will come back as will some of explosiveness bit by bit.

Wow, the Pistons suck, 73 points again. This is pretty amazing, they should be scoring the ball a lot. Instead, they suck. They play no D and they can't really score.

And of course McGrady with a miserable shooting night, 1/4. He had 5 rebounds and 3 assists but he just can't be consistent on offense which makes him just a bad player.

We will see how it goes, but right now it seems like he has 1 good game and next 4 are pretty bad.

Just look at the boxscore. Your bench player who is not even playing 20 minutes a game is your assists leader for the game with freaking 3, I mean McGrady! All guys are just selfish. Rip doesn't care and wants to go so does Prince IMO.

    I agree that's a fair expectation

I'm not sure why you think this is going to naturally happen. Explosiveness is easy to lose and rare to return. Not even Jordan was immune to that.

McGrady would do himself a tremendous favor by refining his jumper and developing a couple mini-moves in the mid-to-low post. His days creating separation with quickness are done.

2-12 (17%) from the outside this year. If he wants to stick around past this year, he's got to get that number above 35%.

Yeah thats what Kobe has done. His mid range game was always present but not as prevalent as it is now.

The problem with McGrady is that he can't mix it up. He is either a driver only or a shooter only. At the beggining of the season he couldn't shoot to save his life, so he could only drive. Once he felt that jumpshot comming back, he became a jumpshooter ONLY.

Now, games like Knicks, Rockets were the exceptions. He probably felt like he was supposed to show his old teams that he is healthly and can play.

Other than that, he will take 4-6 jumpers during a game and make 1/3 of them.

That's his problem. If he can mis it up, he will be better. Right now as a backup point he is not attacking at all.
