I'm ok with the Wisconsin game, they've been a high powered offense and put up some rediculous scores in their last 3 games. Will be fun to see the Nation's #1 Defense go up against that. OU's game doesn't interest me at all. What to watch in the Rose Bowl Game presented by VIZIO: The Grandaddy isn't too bad of a consolation prize for unbeaten TCU after second-consecutive unbeaten regular season, is it? Want closely matched? Both teams average 43.33 points per game. What are the odds of that? But the big showdown here is the TCU defense, which ranks No. 1 in the nation in scoring (11.42 ppg), against a powerful Wisconsin offense which rolled up 83, 48 and 70 points in its final three games. Many believe Wisconsin, which won consecutive Rose Bowls after the 1998 and 1999 seasons, is the nation's best one-loss team. If TCU could knock the Badgers off, it would be a major victory for the non-AQ conferences. http://espn.go.com/blog/NCFNation/post/_/id/34833/instant-analysis-of-the-bowls
Personally I feel TCU matches up worst against Wisconsin then they would have against Oregon or Auburn. Should be a great game though!
I feel the same way. I think a game vs Oregon would have been the best matchup of the 3 for TCU. but, either way. I'll be at Buffalo Wild Wings on the 1st @ 5pm in Houston...can't remember the road...back where Tinsle Town theates off Sam Houston used to be. LOL RoxSqaud.
I guess a bowl sponsorship is worth the money because I have no idea what a Beef O' Brady is but I bet I will soon. We are going to the Rose Bowl! I need to refinance my house to pay for it but the two for one, parade and bowl game, makes it a life experience we just can't pass up.
Baylor and SMU are in bowl games. Texas is not. There's a bowl game at the Cotton Bowl, but it isn't the Cotton Bowl. Weird.
The Las Vegas Bowl between Boise and Utah should be fun. The LV Bowl has become one of the bowls that consistently puts a good product on the field. It helps them that they serve as a consolation prize for two conferences that seem to always both have BCS near-misses.
So very true. I'm only interested in a few of the bowl games. If they had a playoff system, it might make college football as big as the NFL, maybe even bigger.
Have any of you guys read the book "Death to the BCS"? If you havent, its a must read. Lot of insight into why there is so much riding on there NOT being a playoff system. If you hate the BCS now, you will fuming after u read it
