When I turned my laptop on the cd/dvd drive kept popping out. I closed it then after few seconds it'll open back up. I went to Computer Management on my computer and the DVD/CD-Rom wasn't there. I have an HP G70-470us notebook pc. I went to the HP website to try and download DVD/CD-Rom driver but I couldn't find it on there website. Can someone help me.
Here's the link for the G70-460us: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/...&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&lang=en&cc=us&submit=Go » You sure it's not this?
if it's not showing it must be a drver problem unless there's a hardware issue with your drive. uninstall it, unplug and put it back in. it's supposed to be plug n pray.
Under computer management I didn't find nothing that says dvd/cd-rom. But I found something that says disk drives under that it says wdc wd3200BEVT-60zct1 ata device. Should I uninstall then reinstall this.
I removed dvd/cd-rom from the lap top then put it back in. Then restarted it but its still doing the same thing.
cant say much, Im at work but look for registry errors. You can do a google search with many people who have had the same problem. Not for sure but worked for me before and worth a shot.
try doing what others said and uninstall driver's then shutdown and take the dvd rom drive out completely. This usually requires taking out one screw on the bottom of laptop that usually has a pad lock symbol next to the screw. Just follow the optical drive inward towards center of laptop for the screw to take out. Simply pop out the drive(you can open the drive tray and gently pull on that for leverage) and put it right back in and restart.
I did take the CD-Rom completely out, then I put it back and restarted the laptop. The drivers are not showing up in the device manager but its showing up in the registry which I dont understand. I did a goggled search for other people who had this same problem and tried doing their solution but no dice.
