So I made the switch yesterday and I have to say I'm impressed. I had an iPhone 3gs and I can immediately notice the impact of that 1 ghz processor in the Samsung Focus. I feel like the environment is so polished and streamlined. It really blows me away at how simple it all looks and yet in spite of that it still maintains its robustness. I have a bunch of complaints as well, but I feel like the updates will fix that. I beg of you microsoft do the following and everyone will ditch their iPhones:
    • flash
    • improve sync between outlook and the phone
    • copy and PASTE!!!
    • increase the depth and quality of the app store
    All in all, I'm impressed.

A couple of guys I work with have phones with WM7. While I agree that it's a pretty cool mobile OS, there's nothing about it (at this point) that would compel me to switch from my iphone. I'm actually more impressed with the Android OS.

I've had the Focus for a fee weeks now and switched from an Iphone3g. The only thing I miss from my iPhone is my iTunes collection and a fee apps that I had on my phone. Everything seems so much smoother on WP7. Copy and paste are coming next month and im sure we'll see flash soon. I think for the first version, Microsoft did great.

It's Windows Mobile 7. They've done it 6 times before.

It grows on everyone who gets it quick apparently. Doesn't seem very customizable though. Turn off for me, huge plus for others (effortless).

I need to see more app support before I make the switch. I'm also pissed the Dell Venue Pro is a TMobile phone. I don't want to use TMobile. It is a slick mobile OS from everything I've seen and heard, though.

I heard really good things too, really quick/smooth OS.

I recently made the move to Android, unfortunately my phone I currently have doesn't have froyo 2.2 yet. Meh.

I have used an HD7, and I think it's a pretty solid OS. Certainly has it's own unique feel to it, and very snappy and responsive. I think in a couple of years, if it is successful and App and game support improves along with whatever else, I'll definitely take a serious look at it.

I already feel like apps and certainly games will surpass Android fairly quickly.

It's a pretty significant change from what they've done before, though, and it's pretty obvious that is very tailored for a streamlined user experience.

I don't disagree that the change is significant. I kept trying to wait for Microsoft actually produce something worth a **** for a long time and only now have they made an effort for their Mobile platform to be relevant. I'd been through many different flavors of Windows Mobile before finally succumbing to the iPhone (which I still really enjoy). I'm definitely going to wait and see how this one stands up for a while. Previous versions of WM were notorious for memory leaks, etc after it had been in use for a while which made it dog slow after initially working well.

It's Windows PHONE 7. I think MS wanted get as far away as possible from Windows Mobile.

Really looking forward to the update which is rumored for January and is supposed to be massive. Copy/paste, custom ring tones, turn by turn navigation, and some form of multitasking. Trying though not to get my hopes up as MS has disappointed in the past.

All in all, I've had my phone the Samsung Focus for about a month and I really enjoy the phone. You can really get around quick, however it just needs more apps because it seems apps = phone sales. With more WM7 phones out there, the platform will only get better.

If you're in the market for a new phone, Windows Phone 7 is definitely worth a look.
