Dude, TMac is a forgotten man in Houston now after his antics the last 2 seasons. Even in the Bulls game when Bullard said it will be the return of TMac next Thursday, Worrell was like "Who?" No one gives a damn about him anymore. He quit. I expect a light applause that's it. TC fans aren't the most passionate fans anyway so we shouldn't expect anything significant.
Exceptions? List them. The 93-94 Houston Rockets were the only team in the 90s with one hall of famer. I don't even need to go into the 80s with the stacked Lakers and Celtics teams. You think it was easy to win the title in the 80s? How was it easy in the 90s?
In the grand scheme of things no they weren't really historical at all. Sure they were great accomplishments at the time but where did we end up that season? Where did our 'leader' of our 22 straight wins take us in the post season? I do agree that the game has changed and the way to win championships now is a lot DIFFERENT than it was 10-15 years ago however with that said winners FIND a way to win. As for no one deserving their jerseys up there, how about at the very LEAST having the heart to go out and play as hard as you can night in night out, improving themselves and in turn the Houston Rockets name through the things they did for the organisation. You can clearly see in the video posted above that Tracy stopped caring about the Rockets, despite what he said, even our announcers couldn't avoid talking about it on television. You can say as much as you want to say that before that he played hard or whatever and that was just one game (Although it wasn't) when the players on the rafters put on their Rockets jerseys there was NEVER a question of the effort and heart they put into each and every game.
Would still like to see some applauds.... that guy gave what he had... dont think people will injure themselves in purpose and not try.. really liked what he brought to the team

he should get some applauds for the streak. It was on his back. And it was amazing and simply stunning
Jeez this thread has more bitter feelings and anger then my ex-girlfriend. I'll clap for him. He was the best player the Rockets have had in the last ten years. He made the Rockets exciting to watch and actually feel like we had a chance at something. I'm standing up and clapping for him as a player. But I'm booing the hell out of his knee. His back, I'm still not sure.
Man I want a superstar wearing that Rocket red. Draft or trade, but we ain't trading for one of those, so draft it is!
That game should definetly be on the national TV. I know McGrady struggles with his role and game and Rockets ain't winning either, but this will be special and emotional iMO
You TOF's make me sick. TORONTO GAME. HE. QUIT. ON. THE. TEAM. that's all there is to it. Maybe a title would have negated that - hell, maybe the slightest bit of effort studying game tape and taking a Battier-like work ethic to the game instead of coasting on physical gifts would negate that... But the fact remains. He quit. If you can justify that in your head, I'd say that YOU'RE not the true fan.
p.s. There were probably 2-3 seasons during the Yao/Mac era where they would have had a better than 50-50 chance to win a title with just one of Scola, Landry, or Brooks added. Mac carried some really bad players to decent performances.
I understand what he did in Toronto is inexcusicle but Thats not the Tracy that everyone will remember, at least not the one they should remember. Tmac let his injuries get the best of him, I think the Toronto game he realized that he will never play as well as he used to and he handled it poorly, I don't think he quit on the rockets, I think he quit on himself. Which results in the same thing. I, to this day do not question tmacs heart, he's just had a crappy ending to his career. I'm done on this thread, feel free to call me names and make fun of me, but don't say I wasn't brave!
sigh....the good old days and it got a little better when we added artest and wafer. I have never seen a "superstar" fall off faster than Tmac.
Let the fans who want to stand and clap do so, please, without the boos. Show some class and respect.
Actually based on number of years and games played #33 OT should have retired. He even helped bring a championship. And never got injured. Btw why is suddenly injury a bad thing. It's not like someone like Tmac wants to be crippled all his life ! His knee gave up on he could not accept it.ease up on the dude already.
