Why wasn't Kevin martin in the final 5 mins of the game plus OT? Is his defense that bad? I'm ok with lee in the game but you have to take out battier and put in martin to spread the floor.

Once again, you two seem to put on a little twist to make Lowry look worse than he is, almost making me want to pick up on AB just to create a little balance in this board (I would love for Aaron to become half as pesky as Vujab****)

I don’t call Lowry elite but he is a very good, better than average defender. LeBronlike freaks such as Rose, Westbrook and Wall are mostly unstoppable without any help, which is what our guards got from our big men in the second half, which is also what Rondo gets on a nightly basis from his teammates. All those guys have exposed Lowry’s level on defense, but that doesn’t take away the fact that he is a very good, definitely better than average defender.

The organization stated from the beginning that he is more adept at defending pgs. than sfs.

Here's a Morey quote from Courtney Lee press conference stating otherwise. I remember other coaches saying similar thing but don't have a link for it.

Anyway, that's not been the case, which has left Battier as our only wing player who can legitimately defend the better small forwards of the league.

Kudos to RA for the adjustment in the second half. If indeed Lee's defense was indeed a discovery for the Rox (I doubt it), the secret's out.

Balance, where the hell have you been? AB gets bashed by about 10 or so folks over and over and over, it is why I post about him.

They are desperate to see Lowry start, so much so that they make crap up aout his game, or lack of it.

The only thing that is even remotely true is that AB is not a good defender, he is a good passer, a good scorer, a good shooter, and a good dribbler, he is a good PG.

Better than Lowry, and not by a little bit, but by a lot...

And Lowry is a very very good backup PG, that is playing pretty well of late, had the best game of his career against his old team, if he could produce like that more often he would be in the discussion to start.

But alas, Chicago comes and he is lit up so much that hey have to switch Lee to guard him, and Kyle reverts back to 5-17 shooting.....I love Kyle's grit, love him as a player, but believe some fans are delusional if they think he is better than AB.

Now I see where you came from, although Morey did state this as well:

    We all agree on that.

I agree with you in most accounts, the only thing that bothers me is that AB needs to defend better than he has this year, I don't know if I did not pay much attention or turned the blind eye on him, but last year I think he did well considering his limitations. It is this year's showing that has me worried, and if he defends horribly then I'm not so sure.

For me it comes to this:

Lowry < AB as a competent defender (limitations considered)
Lowry > AB as a terrible defender

Everybody knows your damn opinion about this matter. Doesn't mean you have to post it 10 times in every thread. It doesn't help your cause, whatever that is.

I'm pretty sure if you would stop responding to them individually while posting the same thing 5,000 times before, it wouldn't be as big a problem.

Yeah, I teach them to never quit, and to stick up for people that are being wronged.

Again, you are blaming one person, it takes 2 or more to argue...I look forward to you saying the same to them.

Unless you ARE one of them.

I wondered why it hadn't been done at any other point this season. Lee is big enough and fast enough to guard most PG's.

Adelman often wants Battier on the floor at the end of the game for defensive purposes. And you don't want to remove your PG in crucial stretches either. So then its a question of if our PG can cross-defend their off-guard and you're ok with taking Martin or Battier off the floor.

His defense was one of the big reasons why he was signed to the Rockets (obviously). He started for a Van Gundy in his rookie year! Everybody knows by now that if you play for a Van Gundy, you have to have great defense! I don't know about starting though, it probably won't happen since Martin is our leading scorer

I like Lee alot. He is a very smart basketball player.

When you consider the effective swap of

    Lee/Miller vs Ariza

I think we came out with the better end of the deal by far.

I think Ariza thought that just cuz he was with kobe, he was the best player on the rockets.
