They've been listing it all year as a groin (pull). And he hasn't play through injuries effectively. But it's tough to explode off the line when you've got a sore groin or plantar. Easy for fans to whine about a guy not playing well with turf toe when they have no clue how tough it is.

ur correct....however, its also easy for the team/player to , IN THE MIND OF THE FAN, use it as a crutch when they dont really fill us in as much as they could.....and not thats its their duty to let the fans in on every little bump and bruise...but by doing so, they leave a lot less room for criticism

Sometimes the guy is fiery sometimes the guy is meh but he IMO aside from about 8 quarters this year he's been a very good player. Not sure why he gets heat. He is fine. Absolutely fine. A guy like Pollard causes problems for us out there, Williams doesn't affect us in a negative way ever.

8.5 sacks. Plays good run D. The problem is with the secondary and, well, the rest of the defensive line.

Here's a recap of Mario's play by Pro Football Focus. He just needs a LITTLE more to be truly dominatng:

    http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2010/12/03/re-focused-week-13-texans-at-eagles/
"Much like Julius Peppers did for the Bears last Sunday, Mario Williams (+0.8) was able to get after Vick for the Texans — however, unlike Peppers, he was unable to finish the play and bring the QB down in the open field. Williams’ five pressures by any measure is a good performance, however Williams’ inability to finish plays as Peppers did was one of the decisive factors in the Texans’ defense falling short."

Not an excuse, it's a reason for his lower performance

We've had 'reasons' for the last three years. I'm tired of them.

He doesn't need excuses. He's playing fine. If anyone else on that defense was half as good as him, we'd be playoff bound.

He isn't going to the media to cry about it. what is he supposed to do? Injuries happen. Is Yao Ming making excuses by being injured? I don't get it
