There is no "maybe" about it - your simply wrong. I'm serious - look for the video online and you will see. He gave up on that team. Lebron had a triple double in his last game as a Cav - you would think that meant he played a great game, but he loafed it against the Cs that game. The guy known for his run down blocks was the last player down the court on nearly every play. Aside from being laid out after a foul, is there any excuse ever for Illgauskas to make it up the court before Lebron? Let alone in a key playoff game? He did that in several games of that series. Watch game 6 last year and you see Lebron make one last ditch attempt to really try hard in the 4th quarter - it's like a switch goes off. He get's aggressive and the Cavs make a run but the Celtics hit a few tough shots and rather than keep fighting he waves off his coach and wastes the clock in the final minutes of the game - conceeding to the Celtics. This absolutely happened. You can see Mike Brown on the sideline waving his hands to get his team to hurry and try to score and Lebron literally turns his back and dribbles out most of the 24 second clock. I don't get how people think this didn't happened. I kept most of that series on my DVR for months to rewatch because it was just so bizarre - I have never in my life seen anything like it.
Watched both games, first this happened Spoiler <object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/QWxYCyijHps?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/QWxYCyijHps?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object> and then 4 years later... . ....in fairness, the sound you get over the TV is highly dependent on mic placement and how the sound guy is using compression to tame the extreme differences in noise level. I don't think you'll ever get an accurate read on just how load/raucous the boos were from a television broadcast let alone one that is again compressed through youtube's algorithm.
Well they built the team around him - there is no one on that team who can get their own shot because with Lebron dominating the ball 100% of the time, they didn't need anyone else to do that. Of course they look awful now - they weren't built to be a team that survives without Lebron. They went "all in" on Lebron and lost.
This was the same final game in which he also held one of the league's elite scorers to 13 points on 4/13 shooting, right?
Yeah I watched that game and there is no denying that Lebron quit. I think he had already decided he was leaving and he thought it would make his departure easier if he lost. But I can guarantee you he will not quit in this years playoffs. Bron has proven many many times that he can turn it on when he wants to. If they lose in this years playoffs it will not be his fault
There are people out there who think Paul Pierce was an elite scorer as recently as last year? News to me. I would call him his own team's best scorer yes, but that's comparing him to past their prime stars like Garnett and Allen. I struggle to remember the last time I considered him an elite scorer outside of maybe a ten game stretch here or there 5 or 6 years ago.
He had one of the highest true shooting percentages in the league last season, and the highest of his career. Even if he wasn't putting up the highest PPG numbers of his career, he was still not a guy that I'd expect to be completely shut down by a guy who had already quit.
Well, looks like the friendship between Texas own Boobie Gibson and LeBrick might be over after last night.
