Remaining Schedule: Jax: @Ten, Oak, @Ind, Was, @Hou (My projected finish = 9-6) Ind: Dal, @Ten, Jax, Oak, Ten (My projected finish = 10-6) Ten: Jax, Ind, Hou, @KC, @Ind (My projected finish = 6-10) Hou: @Phi, Bal, @Ten, @Den, Jax (My projected finish = 8-8) I have us losing the next 2, then assuming Kerry Collins (or anyone other than Rusty) is at QB I think we lose another game in heartbreaking fashion in Ten at which point we completely lose all hope and give up 400 yards to Orton and 150 to Tebow before winning a totally meaningless game against Jax. The other scenario that could occur is that we beat Ten so the Den and Jax games do have some pressure associated with them, in which case we probably beat Denver only to lose to Jax. I would say chances of winning the division are 75% Ind 15% Jax 9.9% Hou .1% Ten.
If the Titans beat Jacksonville Sunday, then Texans control their own destiny against both those teams with the tie breakers. Need the Cowboys to beat Indy and one other divisional loss for Indy.
The expected loss would be no biggie if we hadn't already blown an assload of games we should have won. But since we did, last night's game was a "biggie."
Welp, margin for error is now officially zero. Time to start rooting for the Cowboys and the Titans this week. Excuse me while I die a little bit on the inside.
Well, when the Texans were 5-7 last year they were behind or tied with close to half the conference for a playoff spot but ended up being the last team eliminated and probably would have made it had Indy not put in backups versus the Jets. As the Texans stand now this is still their best shot of making the playoffs after week 12 in franchise history...lame.
Didnt the Pats put in some reserves too? The Texans could have handled the own biz by beating the Jets AT THEIR HOME OPENER and you wouldnt be blaming it on Jim Sorgi
This but the Jets were a bad matchup for us and us losing was no problem. If we didn't blow games due to Kubiak's dumb decisions (Chris Brown play in JAX), or Kris Brown choking hard we would have been in the Playoffs for sure.
sad sad season. Losing in the last few seconds in so many games this season because of the Defense.....same old crap from last year but because of the offense (Browns fail).
OK... so now lets revisit. If the Colts win out, and the Texans win out... both teams go 9-7. Both teams would be identical in division and conference records also. Jacksonville would be knocked out via their record because the Colts and Texans still have to play them one more time. It kinda favors the Colts in a way... but I guess time will tell after we play our remaining game schedule.
Ha. Indeed a poll fail. The Jaguars are in the driver's seat, and are actually playing the best football out of everyone in the division (which is saying precisely nothing since our division sucks donkey bits). But still, you gotta believe that if the Jags split their games against the Colts and Texans, they will win the division. Also, on a side note, being a Texans fan has hit an ultimate low for me. It's one thing to constantly be behind the curve in terms of playoff scenarios and tie-breakers is one thing, but to be forced to root for the Titans AND the Cowboys on the same day?? Welcome to the Gary Kubiak era folks!!
If Colts won out and Texans won out, Colts would be 10-6 and Texans 9-7, no? Colts are 6-6 after the L today arent they? Jags 7-5 Colts 6-6 Texans 5-7 Titans 5-7
