Kind of a stupid thread. That said, I might consider trading Brooks for the right deal. Brooks may never have a higher trade value than right now. When he comes back he probably loses his starting role. He could turn out to be a great 6th man but with Martin and Lee playing the 2 his minutes will be mostly limited to Lowry's backup. Even if you split the minutes it would only be 24 left for Brooks and that little may actually be to much. This does not even include the fact that the team Chemistry could suffer, he will be disgruntled not getting minutes in a contract year.

I know there are those who think Brooks is better than Lowry and it is blasphemy to think Lowry should start over him. I know because I was one of those fans last year. But it looks like Lowry is the type of pg we need to start on this particular team. I wouldn't have said that last year when Brooks shoot first mentality was more appropriate.

Now if Brooks could change his game to pass first or steal some of Lee's minutes at the 2 so he gets his 30 minutes a game he could be happy and may really help this team with one of the best 6th man in the league. That is a big IF. ANd it is a risk. It is for that reason I would be willing to trade him at this time. Provided we get a great value in return. As for Yao no one in their right mind would give us a great value in return so end of discussion.

AB is a possibility. Yao, hes got a snowballs chance in hell of being traded anytime soon. No owner in his right mind would trade such a cash cow no matter how fragile said cow is

Not sure why Kings would give up Cousins (4rth pick in the draft) just for Aaron Brooks. I think you'd have to include Jordan Hill to pry Cousins off the Kings, and no way I'd sign up to that deal.

Yao won't get traded simply because trading him will cause bad blood against the chinese fanbase we've had for like the decade now. Remember how people felt when Hakeem got traded to the Raps? Multiply the rage by a billion people and that's what'll probably happen to us. Yao has to leave on his own terms, not ours.

Yao is not going anywhere. Yao is not going to get a bigger contract, and Yao will stay next year for reasonable price.

Any why are we going to give away Brooks after shwing last year that he can play great basketbball?

Why are people so quick to dump Yao with nothing better on the horizon?

Big men are hard to come by. Plus, knowing Yao's personality and desire to win, I wouldn't put it past him to take less money so that the Rockets can have more flexibility. Why don't fans think of this before the post?

I understand everyone is frustrated with Yao's injuries, but he still gives us the best shot at becoming a contender. Brad Miller is not going to get the job done, Brendan Hayward is not going to get the job done, Tyson Chandler is not going to get the job done, nor is any other mediocre center.

So what's a better option than Yao at this point? Unless Yao's injury turns out to be like T-Mac's (which by all signs is no where near that level), then Yao gives us the best shot at becoming a contender. Without Yao, we don't draw ANY talent, especially talent like Carmelo Anthony. Yao at least gives us a shot at a guy like Melo.

I'm one who doesn't think Yao will be back next year but unless the big guy comes back strong then you won't get ANYTHING of value for him. If he does come back strong and we've turned it around then you keep him and ride it out. If the team continues to struggle and the guy is playing well then I'd look into it but to many variables right now.

How do you know that Yao gives a chance at anything when he is never on the damn floor. You guys are fooling yourselves if you think Yao will come back to help. He is not going to make it through the season without being injured again. You all don't know this yet, but Yao is going to retire after this season. Use his huge expiring to get us some players that we can use now. Also, Melo is not ever coming to Houston, so get over it. Don't want him here anyway.

Yao got injured on the job. Just like if you did, you'd do the same.

Kings are starting to get cold feet. I would offer up Brooks, Patterson, JT, trade exception and the 2012 pick for Cousins now.

Actually, maybe you should just stop posting.
