He makes the same kind of nifty passes that Kyle makes, but he doesn't look to do it as often. I am not impressed with EITHER of them as a primary passer, Kyle gets a lot of his on the transition or early offense, and Brooks gets a lot on the PnR with Scola... Sometimes the simple passes are the best though.. Ish on the other hand has great court vision.....great....that guy's passing ability is better than Kyle or AB...whether we agree or not, and we obviously do not. DD
Lowry should start. AB couldn't make the defensive plays Lowry made. AB is good to be the scorer for 2nd unit and close out game to take the last shot if it's getting close, or stay on the court longer with Lowry when his shots are falling.
AB can't make thos passes without a lot TOs on a consistent base. It's been proven over the years. Lowry's court vision is much better than AB, even though I agree Ish's court vision is better.
absurd, his penetration creates ball movement that has been essential to the success of the team over the past 2 seasons
LOL "Rondo had a good game today, but his lack of a consistent jumper is what makes Nate Robinson not expendable."
De3finitely agree with this. Ish has better court vision than AB or Lowry. all 3 bring different things to the team, not sure why anyone wants to get rid of any of them.
that's exactly right, why are people still b****ing about AB's passing and defense or Lowry's shooting both players are flawed, both players have their limitations, but we need them both to win Overally, I think AB is better than Lowry, That's why he is the starter... chenjy9, you think you are smarter than DM, RA and all our coaching staff, no i don't think so.....
Lowry's passes are not necessarily more creative than Brooks's, but I think he's better at getting the ball to where his teammates want it, where they can take a good shot or make the good extra pass themselves. That's why he's known as a pass-first PG, while Brooks is a shoot-first PG. Anyway, Adelman apparently said in the post-game news conference that Brooks will be starting when he comes back and Lowry will return to the bench. So for now, mystery solved.
We need all 3 guys ; honestly. It gives us competitive advantage in depth and in skill-level. For the most part, the depth we have at point guards trumps most teams in the league, combining the skills of long range scorer who is quicker than a jackrabbit with a player who can make plays and bull his way to the basket to draw fouls and layups, while also being capable of guarding some shooting guards. Then, throw in a very quick, scrappy guard who can also pass pretty well and score on occasion.
What happened on opening day? Brown and Blake go bananas and make like 7 straight 3's. Lowry is coming on. His shot is getting better and his assists are up. His D was great tonight..he did a nice job on helping on Kobe.
It started off with Aaron Brooks being an average defender. Then Brooks as good a playmaker as Lowry Next thing you know Brooks is a better at driving in than Lowry.
Ok, I'm confused as to what you people think a playmaker is. My definition: Someone who is able to initiate offense, either by scoring, or creating opportunities for others to score easily. Sure, Brooks looks to score most of the time, but considering the fact that he's one of out most capable scorers, thats what he should be doing. It's not like he forces the issue when he doesn't have his shot, and he's a good passer. His court vision isn't like Nash or even Ish, but he makes the right pass the majority of the time. Offensively, he is indisputably our best PG. His defense is the only thing keeping him from being a top-tier starter.
Lowry is a better passer in the open court, but in a half court set, he is not any better than Brooks
Worst PG controversy ever. We sound as desperate as raptor fans in the great Ford vs. Calderon debate.
