Carl Landry Benched for Jason Thompson/DeMarcus Cousins kicked out of Practice

I don't think their coach knows how to deal with players like Cousins.

 

Does no one remember where he got the reputation for being a knucklehead?? In high school... how is hiring the guy that let him act that way help keep him in line??

Good to know about Landry. I was worried there for a minute.

Thompson is a much better rebounder than Landry, and the Kings need boards. Landry is shorter and is not taking care business on the boards, and westphal prolly feels that Landry is much better in his old 6th man rockets role with inside scoring off the bench.

 

They should have never traded Landry. Once Kevin Martin joined the team that's when last season went downhill.

Can you imagine if LA & Sacto pulled off a Bynum for Cousins trade?

That would be crazy. Phil Jackson, Kobe, and Derek Fisher would definitely be able to get the most out of Cousins.

 

Trade Hill for Cousins and throw in Ish Smith.

Cousins is not going to co-exist with Tyreke. That whole team is pi..ed off about Tyreke. Beno made comments about their style a couple weeks back. DeMarcus has griped about it. KMart griped about it. It all centers around Tyreke hogging the ball. Cousins has enough mixture of balls and stupidity to just cut loose with it. I'm afraid they're going to have to move either him or Tyreke and it looks like Sac Town is stupid enough to want to keep Tyreke. I wouldn't be surprised if they try to keep a lock on Cousins for a while but he is is like a bull in a china closet, he's not going to shut up or pipe down. I smell blood, big time.

 

Will the Rockets for once get "predatory" like they've been promising

 

Respected veterans? Why would you need respected veterans? He's supposed to follow the coach and his staff. Look at PP, you never hear a peep of him getting in trouble even if he hasn't even had 1 minute of playing time on a team that's currently 4-12.

What do you base this on? If we go by recent history RA just plain refuses to play his rookies. Cousins isn't exactly tearing the league up Blake Griffin style, and although he's put up some good numbers he hasn't been clogging the paint and protecting the rim. Jordan Hill is a good example, I'm pretty sure Cousins would have gotten even less PT than Hill this season. Those first three games where JH got 3 mins total? I'm sure Cousins would have lost it then.

 

Landry is on the bench while Head is starting.

I'm not worried. DeMarcus realized his mistakes and admitted it during an interview tonight. As far as Landry goes, I love him to death but he hasn't been the same player I saw when he played for the Rockets. His rebounding went wayyy down.

Landry has always been a poor rebounder, and his defense is as bad as Scola's. That's why Scola is the starter and Landry the bench player, and why IMHO people's opinion of him was way overrated esp. when he got traded.

 

Cousins is having himself a game tonight, 16 and 6 midway through the 4th.
