Kobe jacked up alot of bricks when he was surrounded by open teammates and cost them the game in a two point loss. He still got his 29 pts though. He seemed more concerned with hitting go-ahead baskets than getting his teammates involved, as usual, wanting all the glory for himself. Lakers have slipped down to fourth place in the west.

Lakers could come into the playoffs as an 8 seed and I'd still pick them to win the finals against the field. They play when they want to play, and the scary thing is that it's still good enough to win the championship.

Some posts from the lakers board:

9 for 25 from the field?

    Pathetic.

Thats what most of the people on LG were saying. I guess Kobe is growing tired of Pau outshining him.

The way hes been hogging the ball, he could drop 50 and the lakers might still lose.

He dropped 41 the other night and they still lost.

Yep. Kobe is a natural second-fiddle, Robin, Tonto, what have-you. If he can only embrace his nature, the Lakers will be impossible to stop. I suspect that PJ is just letting Kobe pad his ego during this meaningless regular season (as if the Lakers aren't already penned into the Finals); come playoff time, they'll get serious and run the ball-- and the Lakers winning ways-- through #1 option Pau Gasol.

Yeah, but we suck. No AB, ice cold Bud, Jordan Hill with a twisted ankle, and... well... Yao...

Unless Martin has a huge game, and Battier actually contains Kobe for once. We're not going to have a shot at winning this game.

A second Gay block is better than hand-in-the-face-intangible defence

Sure Kobe's shooting too much. But he had to otherwise they didn't even have a chance. Gasol's not a good one on one player and he's always passive on the road. You can pass to him and he's not gonna get deep enough against Marc and he'll pass out again, that's why Kobe's the man and Gasol's the second fiddle.

It's not even December and they are still on pace to 60 wins. Nothing to see here.
