I miss Dream. He was really amazing and clearly dominating shaq early in the game.

I posted this about an hour ago: http://bbs.clutchcity.net/php3/showthread.php?s=&threadid=42258

But what is amazing to see is how Orlando was supposed to be the "Team of the Future" at that time. A team of mostly young players and Horace Grant. 7 years later, only Shaq really has mantained that star level or high-level of play.

Also makes me wonder if we will be seeing another Houston-Orlando Final in the not to distant future.

Watching these old games really helps put things in prospective for the current Rockets. Just earlier today, NBA.com tv aired Game 7 of the 94 NBA finals against NY. Cassel was going crazy. As all of you know, it was Smith who lit it up in Game 1 against the Magic. The very next game in game 2, it was Cassel. It shows that having a healthy tandem at any spot really elevates a team to a championship level. When one's having a bad game, the player in the same position naturally picks it up.
Although I can see Francis/Mooch being a dangerous combo at the point, its more natural to assume that this year's PF spot will translate into something of a Cassel/Smith combo. All it takes is alittle bit of luck, time, and CHEMISTRY, and maybe we'll actually have a three headed monster at the 4.

    Thoughts of Game 1:
-Damn Elie and Horry are playing solid for the Rockets. We need guys like this to help Francis and Mobes carry the team.
-It seems like we're always on the fortunate side of an opponents choke act. In Game 7 of 94, Starks practically handed us the O'Brien trophy. In a few minutes, Nick Anderson will miss 4 straight free throws, giving us one of the most memorable moments in Rockets history.
-I really miss the red jerseys. The home white jerseys, not so much, cuz yellow-on-white is ugly. But I can really see Franchise and the Cat, sporting the red glare of the Rockets pride. Someone please talk the ROckets organization into having a retro-jersey day. The classic look is back, didn't you hear?

For all those who think Shaq just got good, i hope they watched him pretty much match Hakeem in that series. If other centers could stay as close to shaq as shaq did hakeem, maybe the lakers would have championship parades every yr.
