we really need something of a kind from him today if we hope to win and know that Jason Terry is really hot this season and he knows how to destroy our team

Martin was consistently having games like this where he would go 12/14, 9/11, and 14/16 at one stretch in his career.

He is capable of scoring every time he touches the ball, but it's nice to have a player that understands he needs his teammates to score if he wants to win.

He currently does that on this team. I would even say his game is slightly better. The only difference may be he is better guarded on this team. We don't have a tyreke Evans.

So many threads bashing this guy but we wouldn't even have 5 wins if it weren't for him. Yeah he is not a 4th quarter go to guy but he plays within himself. Rarely does he force a shot. He looks for his and then he looks for the most open guy and if that is not there he dishes to someone on the perimeter to start the process over.

To me that makes him overpaid, why pay him over 10 million when he's not a go-to player?.. your taking away your flexibility while being stuck in mediocrity.

What are you talking about? He attacks the basket every chance he gets and gets the and 1 or at least a foul called most of the time. He averages like 9 free throws a game.

I didn't know he was this good.

Those drives were lightning fast, compared to that, the now martin is a lazy jump shooter

So what if he is overpaid. He is what he is. You don't build a team around Martin. But you can win a championship with him on your team. He is a great shooter. he is our best scorer. He is not fools gold because he helps you win. he shoots lights out. QAnd he does it consistently when he is guarded. Fools Gold is Tracy Mcgrady, Iverson, Carmelo ANthony, Nowitzki... You think you can build a championship team around them but the just tease you every year.

Oh and just for the record Martin may be overpaid but here are just a few guys making alot more than him...

    Michael Redd Milwaukee $18,300,000
    Andrei Kirilenko Utah $17,822,187
    Gilbert Arenas Washington $17,730,694
    Vince Carter Orlando $17,300,000
    Zach Randolph Memphis $17,333,333
    Kenyon Martin Denver $15,959,099
    Elton Brand Philadelphia $15,959,099
    Predrag Stojakovic New Orleans $15,336,000
    Rudy Gay Memphis $13,603,750
    Brandon Roy Portland $13,520,500

    AMEN OMR.

Martin is a great complement player and $11M for a complement player in this league is kinda fair (especially since most superstars are making $15M-$20M).

Put Martin alongside somebody like Carmelo Anthony, a good big and a good PG, that team could put up a championship run for sure.

How is Anthony or Iverson fools gold?

Iverson played with his heart on the line day in day out throughout his entire career. Took a team to the finals on which he was the only superstar.

Anthony is still young and yet to prove himself on a great team.

Iverson would be fools gold in today's NBA.

Back in the ISO days he was the man.
