I actually cant believe people on here are still criticizing Lowry (and his contract). It almost leads me to believe 95% of people who post on here have no idea what they are talking about.

Look at what Kyle has done in his last five games...

    45.6% FG, 40.0% 3PT, 75% FT, 11.2 Pts, 4.8 Reb, 8.5 Ast, 1.8 TO, 2.4 Stl, 0.6 Blk

(Yeah thats an 4.8:1 Ast:TO Ratio) <-- Augustin leads the league at 5.1:1, nobody else is above 4.2:1

    Yep... Guy is totally terrible.

All I ever hear is "god Lowry don't ever shoot the ball". Well, people need to stop freaking out every time he misses a jumper. Kyle brings so much to this team it bothers me that all anyone can ever say about him is to stop shooting.

Did anyone forget he won us the Pacers game all by himself?

Or how about the 6 steals and constant badgering of nash that forced him to get a T?. Oh and Kyles 8:1 assist to turnover ratio opposed to nashs 1.8:1 wasnt bad either that night...

Or maybe we should think about the near triple double and outstanding D he played against Curry/Ellis vs GS

Or what about the ice cold three he hit tonight after Westbrook crapped on Battiers head? And the other three he nailed in Westbrooks face that should have been an and1? Or how about the back to back stops on Westbrook in the fourth that resulted in an airball and a total clanker which kyle rebounded, ran the court, and dished to Hill who wound up on the line? Possibly we could consider the shot clock beating scoop with 3 minutes to go? Or maybe the huge block on Westbrook with a minute left?

Or we can just be ignorant and remember that one time where he missed a game sealing free throw line J with 3 seconds left...

Come on people, get with the program. Lowry is good. 86 the hating ya diggg

Last year: He pummeled over defenders en route to the rim. Plenty of and-ones. Etc. etc.

This year: Takes bad shots. Other than that, his numbers across the board are better.

    shut the hell up please

people dont like Lolwry shooting the ball because he SIMPLY cant shoot it. He's good at everything else though. He is also over paid but sometimes you have to over-pay to keep your players.

1.) First, who is criticising Lowry? In case you havent noticed everyone gets criticised and Lowry isnt anywhere near the top of the list.

    Cool.

Who ever said Lowry was terrible?

Well then you are being defensive because alot of good things are said about Lowry.

LOL what? Every game is won and lost as a team. Every single one.

What about Rose, Westbrook and Wall?

Lowry is good, but there are still holes in his game and more of them are coming to light with his extended playing time. He use to be touted as a good decision maker but, as we have seen lately, he seems to be prone to more boneheaded decisions than Brooks.

Lol great way to start off you're post by telling someone to shut up. Real classy.

Lowry is a career 47.1% shooter from inside the arc. Clearly he knows how to shoot. Hes just not a deadly 3 pt shooter but he doesnt take enough to get mad at him. I guarantee half of his three point attempts have come with 5 seconds or less on the shot clock..

He is finally playing much better. But to live up to his contract he need to improve he shoot selection a times and he need to attack more like last year He will probably get better once AB get back and he face more bench lineups and I hope play alone AB in the clutch it seems like it worked a lot last year. One thing I notice is he is not getting the calls on his flopping as much as he did last year, neither Scola.

Play to your strengths. Rondo does it, Rose does it, Ishmael ****ing Smith does it. Why can't Lowry?

47.1% shooter from inside the arc? That includes layups + floaters too. Lowry doesn't shoot much from mid-range. It's either a layup/floater or a three.

And apparently KD shoots 27 percent from the 3. Guess what? You still don't want him shooting the three.

Percentages say half the story. Sometimes they're useful, other times they're not.

I can play this game all night...

Watch this game and tell me we win without kyle. I defy you...

Rose, a career 25% 3 pt shooter hit four threes, three which were contested. Not much you can do about that.

If you actually watched the game tonight, Kyle played just as well, if not better then westbrook. Nowhere near as flashy, but just as good. Most of westbrooks points came off switches on the pick and roll...

Wall, well obviously you dont recall Lowry didnt play in the preseason, came back for 2 games, got hurt again, and then got to play against Wall. He was nowhere near 100% and only played 21 minutes...

There is one hole in his game, he cant shoot the three well consistently. He really is never out of control anymore, and he doesnt make poor decisions with the ball. Most of his fouls are smart and useful. There is no way Lowry makes more boneheaded plays the Brooks. If anything, Lowry is one of the smartest players on our team. Jay Wright said Kyle Lowry was without a doubt the smartest player hes ever coached. But what does Jay Wright know?

Actually its not. I started typing this up before I even saw that thread lol. Just a coincidence..

What prompted me to start this thread was the post game recap and the game thread where the only mention i ever saw of kyles name was telling him to stop shooting...

Not only Kyle is getting better at a relatively new position (starting pg), where he needs to learn how to pace himself, as opposed to going all out coming from the bench, he is playing too many minutes because his backup is inexperience.

I thought and still think that Lowry is a great player. Even when the Rockets were piling on the losses with him as the starter. The problem is he isn't one. He is a great back up and an even better compliment to AB when they're on the court together. It just hasn't happened this season yet. Trust me, when AB comes back and Lowry's role is reduced to a complimentary player, everyone's going to get back on the bandwagon.

I don't have a problem with Lowry taking the open mid-range shot.

The Thunder were daring Lowry and Battier to shoot all game. In the final minutes, they clamped down on Martin and Scola and defended the hot-shooting Battier better.

Some are saying he should've passed to an open Scola in that last offensive sequence, but I think from Lowry's vantage point, looking through those Thunder trees, Scola probably did not seem as open as the camera might lead us to believe.

Better to take the open shot than trying to force a pass.

Also, his conditioning was obviously not at the level necessary to be a starter. He's gotten better though.. well, the numbers don't lie.

OP, I see where you are going and I admire you sticking up for a Rockets player, BUT you have to realize that all the hating was a series of massive knee jerks, and if you ignore the insignificantly small sample size then they were not horribly off base. The saner minds all knew the rough patch would smooth out (Lowry's play, not necessarily the team's season).

Anyway, responding to the howlers is a form of troll feeding, which like all troll feeding is to be avoided.

I am willing to bet that the majority of the people who are crying about how overpaid he is would be crying more had we not matched the deal. Lowry has been an integral part of this squad over the past two years. Infact, we were doing pretty well last season before he got injured. Yes he got injured early and was off to a rocky start but now he is back and playing like a beast.
