Need help finding a new anime series to watch. Currently watching Bleach. So anything to that similarity would be ideal.

    Suggestions?

Thats the problem! lol With Supernatural, Psych, Dexter, Boardwalk Empire and Big Bang (feels like so much more??) just not enough time!

Just every once in a while I have some free time where I find myself trying to burn 30 minutes (why is gaming falling away from me?? I thought I would be a WoW extremist whooping on my grandchildren...)

    But anywho.

(off topic, trying to get into Hawaii 5-0 as well)

Since, we are on subject, what about stand alone movies (anime ofcourse)? If I dont have to know about the series to understand the movie, even better!

Berserk, One Piece, Monster, Death Note, Naruto, Claymore, High School of the Dead (who doesn't love zombies??), Full Metal Alchemist (second series not first) are all pretty good.

    'Summer Wars'
    'Girl Who Leapt Through Time'

Made by the same guy if you have time to kill these movies are great looking and a bit different. There is some action but they are more character driven.

'Read or Die' is really good too.

Death Note & GTO are my all-time favorites.

Mushishi and Claymore are very good as well.

I don't watch anime, but I read the manga. Assuming that the anime's are as good as their manga counterparts, I'd recommend my personal favorites:

    Rurouni Kenshin
    Death Note
    Full Metal Alchemist
    Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad
    Eyeshield 21
    Liar Game
    Dragonball

I also watched Gundam Wing on Toonami (RIP) when I was younger. It's amazing, even dubbed (I still recommend watching it subbed though)

I wouldn't recommend Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad. They actually try and sing the music which sort of ruin the mystic of some of the songs aka their version of hardcore rock and fobby English singing. Way much better to read the manga than the anime.

Dang, thats disappointing. I heard Beat Crusaders wrote all their songs, and I like what little I've heard from them. They actually pull off the fobby English thing pretty well, but if they aren't the ones performing the songs, I could see where things could go wrong pretty quickly. Shame.

    ...

I just listened to some of the music on Youtube. I agree, most of the songs were pretty difficult to listen to. The opening theme is pretty sweet though. If you're looking for a manga to read, I still highly recommend it.
