Rice has made the most 3pointers in nba history. Not saying he's the best, but giving him credit for what he did.
This is off of NBA.com about Glen Rice: Among active players, stands second in 3-pointers made, sixth in 3-pointers attempted and tied for fifth in 3-point percentage. But hasn't done squat for us yet....still waiting to see him rain those 3s...
Credit where credit's due... Reggie Miller has made half again as many 3pt'ers as Rice...2,217 to 1,453.
You're right there rezdawg, his performance yesterday reminded me of the thought that Rice might be good again. So I decided to grow the balls and say on this website that he would not just be some offseason promise, but that he will deliver just like UPS, gay-run-teed.
A healthy Rice is what this team needs. I'm afraid that the ISO offense and kick it to the open man is here to stay as long as Mobley and Francis are running the show. Rice (and the Rockets) will thrive. But like Clutch said, I'm not sure that this is going to showcase Ming's talent to the fullest. With this offense, a team of Matt Bullards is what we need. Can you tell I don't like the offense?
I think G. Rice will be what he was in NY. Pretty much a guy hitting a few shots here and there. Even if he looks sharp now it's not likely to carry over into the games. You just get old. Everythnig is a step slower and he seems to have reached that point. Jerry Rice and Nolan Ryan are just a handful who seem to defy the odds.
Well, I'm going to give don credit for using the word "nostrability" in a sentence. How cool is that?? Hey, if Glen has a flashback and gives us one season (this year) at 75% of what he was at Charlotte... uh, we'd be rockin' the server here at CC.NET! Sometimes athletes have a flashback of their glory days late in their career. They get lucky with the Moon and the Stars alignment and tha Bod gives them one last stretch of the glory days. It happened to Dream during the last part of the season before last. Who'd of thunk it? (I guess if anyone "thunk it" it was here!) Maybe he's not parboiled... maybe he'll be Instant Rice for us this season.
Just the fact Rice is healthy and slimmed down and available to prove himself is far better than the bad feet and knees version we had this time last year. Rice couldn't even practice with the team and was forced to just shoot around and watch. He's already posting up and banging with Boki and participating in drills and scrimmages. Don't underestimate the heart and desire of great athletes, he's not that old and he hasn't really had any wear and tear since he was 33. Hell, Jordon is almost 40 and he can still bring it. I am not surprised Glen worked so hard and is ready to Rock. Rice's supporting cast will be far better than most taking the pressure off him to score. He should get his within the flow. What team mate is the defense going to leave? Steve, Cat, MT, KT, EG, Mooch, or Yao? Somebody is going to get open quite often...
